Ok i've 05 silver tl and I have decided to get the DDM hid kit 35w for the foglight got any suggestion on the colour i should get? 3000k,6000k or even 12000 ....

Thats a good kit---I've had mine for about 6 months now. I got 5000K---much whiter than stock headlights, which surprised me, since the stockies are 4300K.

 

Just get the raptor kit.

The only difference between the raptor kit and the DDM kit is the ballast size.

Raptor kit = big

DDM = slim

IMO it is the same quality.

Get 3000K.

 

go with 3000k give it that nice yellow, I have mine done with 3k also went with 35w ddm kit, although yesterday they both stopped working, I dont know if the ballast went on both or a fuse blew, I will look into it soon...If its ballast or the bulbs its lifetime warranty anyway, but I believe bulbs are 1yr warranty...I also went with Lamin-X yellow film cover for fogs so daytime gives it that yellow lens touch and also protects from debris to the lens....I'll have to post some pics as soon as I get a new camera..either way ddm tuning is pretty good kit for a cheap price i have 2 of them for both my cars

 

Please do post pics of your lights. What type of film are you using? If you have any pics of the lights before you put your film on the lens please post them also. Has anyone used the 55watt DDM's? This copied from DDM's website.

What is the difference between 55w and 35w kits?
Our 55w HID kits are 40% brighter than the standard 35w kits.
The 55W system ballasts are about 1 cm longer than the 35W ballasts.
55w kits tend to wash out some of the color of the HID bulb due to the light output( for example, a 55w 8000k will look similar in color to a 35w 6000k kit).
Our 55w HID Kit is not recommended for smaller fog light housings because they tend to concentrate a large amount of heat in a small area.

For a extra $10 I may go with the 55's if they are better at 3000k.

 

I'd follow their recommendations and stick with the 35W units, depending on what you plan to use them for.

Okay I will get a better video this was mostly for the exhaust note but it shows my yellow HID's foglight 3k 35w. Also I would def stay with 35w as 55w will cause problems for such a small space, my 35w already blew a 10a fuse but I upped it to 15a, see how that holds up...If it blows that fuse then I gotta found out if I have another issue, but it should be fine now.....Here is the video which is also in another thread

No you don't need one.

 

I did use a relay on my Accord fogs. I use halogens (Nokya Yellow) in my OEM fogs.

How does the light spray from a reflector housing? does it go everywhere with glare or is it contained?

 

everythings plug and play. my cousin and her boyfriend both work for ddm tuning and i personally get kits from them all the time. Not the best quality but for the price you cant go wrong get 3k and 35 watt if u wanna go for fogs

^^Foglight housings not specifically made for HIDs (using projectors) will throw the light all over the place, resulting in a lot of glare. The Accord fogs are notorious for this. The OEM fogs in the headlights (04-06) are slightly less prone to this since they have glare shields.
Search some of the fog threads for pics--there are several.

Just yesterday saw some van with 8k kit with lots of light above the cutoff, crazy, but it sure was purple like a mofo(not at the cutoff but everyf....ngwhere)

 

I am about to purchase t the DDM kit now good price.. yeah what color. i want it to be close to the OEM hid. u think 4500 would be good ??

 

5000K was too blue/white to match the OEM headlights. Go with 4000K, if you can.

 

i would go with 3k :-) I want to see how it looks. I wonder if the 3k is legal for main beams.

What bulb type should i get for a 04 TL? I have stock fogs that are next to the headlight.

 

They sell the DS2 bulbs by themselves...I just bought them in 6K at the same time as the HID kit for my accord fogs.

No relay, and have been working fine for over 6 months now.
They recently changed the raptor kit to be lifetime warranty and 10 bucks cheaper $29. Can you go wrong?
My gf and I have them, top and bottom. 6000Kelvin

5000K is too high. Go with 4000 or 4500K, if you can get them in that temperature.

 

No problemo...even at 4500K though, because it's a different manufacturer so it may be bluer and not match anyway. I ended up getting a set of bulbs for my lows AND the fogs to match so I wouldn't have an issue with a diff. color.

 

I'm learning the hard way that you should buy all of them at once if you want a good color match.

 

Does anyone have the Umnitza D2S HID 6k bulbs? JW because i would like to see a pic of one besides myself to compare the output....somehow i dont think their's is as bright as some of the other 6k's on TL's. also if i get the DDM HID Kit would anyone know what kelvin temp would match it up?

 

so are this bulb any better than hidextra.com from the black market group. i have not install mine yet but i see this ddm bulb pair is only $30 dollars, even cheaper than hidextra.com.

You go to that website and plug everything in and it will tell you.
