daytime lights mod

Has anyone seen the new Audi S6 with the daytime headlights. They are basically LED lights in the front grill. I saw one the other day and thought it was just sick Still can't see 57000 for the car though. I thought about it on our cars but it won't look right. Anyway just wondering if anyone else has seen them.

Someone suggested this to me once. I just haven't had the time or resources to pursue it, but I agree with you, it does look !

I had an Audi S6 follow me up the PCH toward Big Sur last week. I really like those DRL, never seen anything like them. I commented to my wife about them and she thought they were real sharp. I'd like to see a mod that could incorperate these lights on the 04-06 TLs. Anybody have access to these Audi type DRL lights?

I don't think you need to use those exact lights (they might not fit). You can probably get away with wiring up a bar of LEDs, if you can locate one that works.

Check out this thread:

Something along those lines would work. I'm not sure if they fit in the lower grills though.

Theres a few options out there that may be cheaper. Depending on the look you want you got choices.

I'll only show you lights offered in white -

For the cheap side of things - These would offer a close look to the audi's with its distinct multiple light heads

20 bucks a pop. Size: 7/8" (22mm) H x 1-7/8" (48mm) W

More pricey, but a little brighter -

Wide-Angle, High Intensity LED's. Light spread measures 30 degrees vertically and 90 degrees horizontally. Featuring 6 1-Watt LEDs. Water-resistant. Requires external flasher. Includes 15" pigtaiL.
You dont need an external flasher since you just want the steady burn feature. just wire to a switch. 99 bucks a pop and they are a special order so who knows what kinda return time they have

in the 100 a pop range -

super bright suckers with an intresting lens design. Im not 100% sure if they are a steady burn or not.

If I recall I thought I saw PIAA offering LED fog lights....

Able2 Sho-Me - Slim Light

Theres a few other variations that can be found on the same site.

Found a link that sells them. Not sure about fitting them into a 04-06Tl though. Anyone got some ideas?

They'd have to be the correct intensity. LEDs always look great at night. If white LEDs were in a clear housing, would they show up bright at all? You would need some super bright ones to shine in the daytime. Looks like the examples shown by deke would work, anything less will probably wash out. I'm sure the Audi has some trick engineering in that lens design.

I believe able2 sells they kinda LED by the inch... so you could figure out how wide you want it and then just order it to length..
