Dangg..... My TL is fast. Whupped ass.
Today when I was driving out for lunch I stopped next to a late model Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6 at the stop light! It appears to be '06 model. I was in the inside lane and the dude(age 25~ 30 range) in the Crossfire was in the middle lane. On green we started taking off fast and WHAMMMMM!! I know he was trying to race, and he looked as if his car is superior to my Acura. Anyways, we both pushed it, oh by the way, I'm on 6spd MT I hauled his ass. I pulled away from him at 45~ 50 mph. I sped up to around 80 in no time. He held up good behind me about 2~ 2 1/2 car lengths. I know the Crossfire SRT-6's are awefully fast cars. That thing *can* do 0-60 in 5.1 sec. However due to my *driving skill* and really good start I whupped his ass. Oh I felt good! I didn't see his face but I could imagine he felt and said something like "What the hell..... How the hell did he beat me!@#$%? ugggggg...... Dang... that black Acura must be modded!!".
I felt my Acura is too fast. Oh I'm proud of my Acura.

um this doesn't belong here, and if those cars do 0-60 in the times you're saying, we should have no chance.... but hey it could have been the driver

thanks for the comment, gomezine. With my ol' Infiniti G20 MT, which I still have, has descent pickup but could never really compete with any of those high-powered cars. Now with this car it's got some power! Haul ass!

People make their own decisions and no one can influence that, i have had my fair share of street racing but i've stopped. I've seen and heard enough stories to make me stop. Anyone can step on the gas and prove to another car that there car is faster or what not, but it takes a MATURE and RESPONSIBLE person not to. Go to the tracks....Safer and more fun, and you don't have to worry about cops. just my .02

There is never a right time to do it on the streets.

No other people around...
It happened so fast...
Not sure what happened...
Those are the last words uttered by those who have died or killed innocent others while street racing.
Take it to a track.

I see people do it all the time, and most of the time they are complete idiots.. Just think before you act, dont let your testosterone level get to your head!

if he would have posted this in the right section in the first place, he wouldn't have gotten bashed on, i wasn't bashing on him, if you read what i wrote carefully maybe you would understand! You're right it is RACING AND COMPETITION, but does that mean doing it dangerously? Like i said i had my fair share of it. So don't go getting on my case, i was clearly making a point!

I do not mind the posting of stories involving incidental (and very occassional) street race stories, although I MUCH prefer track stories. At this time, the main thing I will not tolerate is any racing story aparty to organized street racing competitions.
Littletruong's original post is dead on and well stated. meowCat, try to relegate your racing activities to the track or any other controlled environment. Street runs are a terrific adrenaline rush but, it is more fun to have the adrenaline rush accompanied by time slips or lap times.

Guys, it wasn't a big of race. Just a quick sprint upto 80 and slow back down to 45.
Yes, there were no cars front of us, and since it's a short distance of sprinting, it was well under control.
Someone here said "drive smart", yes, that's it. I haven't got a single accident for over 10 years now. No speeding ticket in the last 5 years, which shows I have some sense and experience.
I would call more of "sprinting" rather than "racing". But anyways, it was fun, for that short time.
As for the breaking in, yes, this is the first time with hard acceleration, at the mileage of 2300 miles. My breaking-in was done at 1500 miles. Some single digit of seconds of hard acceleration will not tear up the engine apart. As a matter of fact, I'm a gentle driver. Most of the time I take off so gently, driving like Mrs. Daisy. He he.....

Thanks guys. I was a bit lucky too. If he was totally determined and had really good start, it would've been tough to whup ass but still would be very competitive. That dude must thought I've got my TL modded but it's bone stock.
