Exclamation Dang! I was torned between Wings and Decklid! Help!!!

I looked at wings and lid and both look beautiful to me. I originally have in mind the lid but the cost for the lid almost the same the wings so I opted for the wings. Now I am fighting myself over which one is more beautiful and is better to buy. What do you guys think about Wings and Lid? Its pros and cons and which one better? Need help ASAP pls !!!!!!

If you are getting the full under body kit I would vote for the wing. Otherwise I would actually leave it be the car looks sharp without the lid.

I'm getting the lip spoiler. It's understated. The deck spoiler just doesn't fit with the car's lines IMO.

TLover, what do you mean the lip spoiler? The big one or the small one? Sorry but your third sentence confuse me ... I thought people call the lip same as deck lid?

The lip spoiler is the one that isn't elevated over the trunk.

Please go decklid...the wing spoiler is a little much and takes away from the simplicity of the lines of the TL...

If your are getting the full underbody kit, just get the deck lid spoiler. The wing is way too much.
Trust me.

Wait. Doesn't the A-Spec come with the full body kit and the wing? Do you think the A-Spec looks horrendous?

i'm with him...deck lid looks sleek and i dunno....i even like it on other cars like the z and the g35 coupe...the wing looks....um...ricey ...but you know what...just try to get pics of the two wings on the color of car that you have and decide from there...i'm sure you won't have a hard time...i really think this is more based on personal preference....

oh yeah...isn't it weird that the wing costs more than the deck lid??? whats up with that??? hehehe just wanted to rant....

This might make a good poll. Who can set that up?

i don't really like the look of the tl with the wing, but i also dont think the deck lid is worth it. but if youre going to get the aspec bodykit, i would say go for the wing

The poll should also include a "no-wing" choice. TL does look good just as without. Wing, for this car, is just an option and depends on personal taste - IMO.

My 18" chrome rims are still in boxes. My car build date is 4/22 so I wont be able to put it on until sometime in May tho ... But I can put up some pics of the rims without the tire if anyone wants to look at.

Now I am in the process of figuring out which tire is good for those rims.

Back to the topic ... should I go wings or lip?!

I would greatly appreciate if moderator can help put up a poll. I really need to make desicion soon!

No offense, I'm not trying to be an ass, but which one looks better to YOU? There's pics all over the place. Personally, I like the lip spoiler.

When I ordered my TL, I requested the lip....but when it showed up...lo and behold...the wing was flying on the trunk. While I'm not sure it would work with every color.....I think it looks great in Redondo Red. It seems to add a little something to the overall line of the car...but again.....it's all in the eye of the beholder, so go with what feels best to you!

DECK LID! I ordered the deck lid even though i was hesitant due to the high cost. But when i picked up my tl there were two side by side. Mine and another one without the decklid. To me it was a major improvement.
Dont get the wing thing. Thats just too crazy.

the lip is so expensive and non-exisent why even bother? I think for those who want the car looking more luxurious and classy the lip is your choice. For those who want a little more sport the wing is the way to go. I have the wing and think it looks great....

Picked up my A-Spec TL yesterday and had the same thing happen. Ordered the lip and got the wing. I made them switch trunk hoods with the only other SSM on the lot with a deck lip.

Obviously I think it looks much nicer & classier! If I was younger (I'm 49), and wasn't driving around with a wife and children, I might go for the wing for the "chick" factor.

My 13 year old daughter was seriously disapointed that I didn't get the wing.

GOOD LUCK!

To each his own, but I would stick needles in my eyes before I'd get a wing or a lip.

Ah, but the nice thing is....you don't HAVE to do either.

Just curious as to why so many people think THEIR opionion has to be everyone's? We ALL had enough smart sense to buy what is most likely the finest upscale sedan currently on the market...why nitpick over each individual's particular like or dislike of a minor embellishment? The fact that a particular individual does or doesn't like something doesn't automatically make them RIGHT...it just means they have an opinion. Personally, I enjoy seeing the variations on the road....how quickly would it get boring if EVERY TL was the same color with exactly the same options?

The decklid WORKS (slightly lowers drag while simultaneously adding downforce to the rear) while the wing does NOTHING but ADD weight, increase drag and scream "BOY RACER."

That reality makes the choice a no-brainer in my mind.

Don't you think wing adds sporty look but deck lid adds an elegant look to the car?

I personally place functionality above looks.

I started out with a brand new 04 WRX STi this year. It was a fast and nimble car to drive, but after a month, I got sick of the jarring ride, rev happy kids in their mods wanting to race me at every light, but mostly, it was the "coat hanger' wing on the back the car. My girfriend also hated it and thought it was too tacky and gawdy.

I drove the TSX before deciding on spending a few extra bucks for the TL. Personally, I like the TL without any wings or body accents added. The new TL has clean, beautiful lines without any add-ons. To me, some cars look good with wings and some cars don't. As the TL competes in the luxo car bracket, and not "street-racer" category, I like the car just the way it is.....CLASSY! Also, you rarely see bimmer, Jag, Audi, or benzo owners adding on wings to their cars, even it was a dealer option.

It's too bad that Subaru can't get their act together and offer a "mature" version of the STi.

It's WAY too "boy racer" in its current form.
