Someone clipped my drivers side rear and just took off. THe rear bumper is not terrible. May be it can be put in more (no damages really just need pain work) but the red plastic tail light is busted. HOw much am i looking at and where would i buy the red plastic tail light? Other than the over priced dealershp...

I assume you meant to link him to www.acuraautomotiveparts.org which has good prices on OEM acura parts.

And if you get pics, we could help give you an idea of how much it might cost. If its just the rear bumper paint, probably around 300, but if there is damage to the bumper or rear quarter panel, it will be more.

edit: never mind, the other one is actually cheaper(only 2 bucks though), but the site I posted is pretty good too.

i mean what is the most im looking at? Imean the rear bumper is kind of coming out but it dosnt need to be replaced or anything. JUst a little paint work may be requiered. But the red taillight is shattered...

That would've been the first thing that I did.

 

That just happened to a lady in my office...3rd time! She called the cops, and that's about it (they don't care). However, it got filed under uninsured motorist, which has a lower deductible than collision (or none, depending on your policy). Pay it and go to the body shop as Steel said.

Where did this occur? If it was in a location with camera's can they provide you with the tape to identify the car??

this was near a church a couple miles off where i work (LOL). May be god saw it and will punish that person. Anyways i know i need the red plastic taillight. Can someoone help me out with my car. Or i may just return it but still i want to get it fixed

 

Looks like all you need is a re-paint on the bumper and a new tail light. I'm sure the body shop can re-adjust the bumper too so it doesn't rub the quarter panel.

yeah, i guess that's all but how much do u think it will cost total. The car is dirty so it looks even worse.

Call around and see who has prices that come close to 130. If none are close, just get it on the net. All you need is that housing, assuming the bulbs didn't break or anything.

 

Just by the damn tail light...or are you waiting for someone to offer you a free one??? Just the ghetto look of a broken tail light on a TL should prompt one to fix it, ASAP! Besides, driving around with a broken tail light in a new TL makes other TLs look bad , and if you get pulled over, isn't the fine for broken equipment ~$100 (unless you buy a tail light and fix it and then show them).

BTW, same thing happened to me 2 days after buying my car...paid almost $200 for a R tail light from the local dealer because I didn't want to wait for shipping and I couldn't stand looking at that broken light.

Oh yeah, that site's together all right. Select Acura Automotive Parts Catalog On-line, then for model and year, select TL, then 2004. The resulting pick lists come up TL and TL-S, followed by the engine model for 2003. Select 2005, the lists come up with 4DR Base or Sport, again followed by the 2003 engine model.

 

Its just calling the 6 speed the S. Everything is correct other wise.

The industry terminology, for brevity I guess, for the 6MT version is the TL-S.

ordered the tailight, its coming in tmr. I also got the touch up paint, wax, and polisher. Will apply everything after i get the taillight tmr. Ill post pics!

 

sorry to hear that man... I had the same thing happen to me in December. Except I chased the guy down. When the police got there, they arrested the guy and took his ass away. The idiot was DUI and the brakes in his car didn't work. I ended up having to get the entire bumper and rear body kit replaced. Luckily nobody was hurt.
