So im driving home from a flag football game. I am on 285 East Bound, and suddenly I notice a whole bunch of debris flying all over the highway, hitting every ones cars and windshields. Naturally everyone slows down, but the debris keeps flying. I get over in the far left lane to try to avoid most of the stuff, but I still get hit a little. I look ahead and notice that someone was towing a small trailer of some sort, spitting out wood chips, dirt and other crap all over the highway, it got so bad at one point where I couldn't even see the car, because all the stuff that was coming off the trailer. I started getting pissed, so I was about to dial 911 to get this idiot off the road, just as I was about to press my phone button on my steering wheel, a dekalb country cruiser passes me and eventually pulls the asshole over. I hope he got a very expensive ticket.

I get home and examine my car and didn't any damage. I know I may have some chips, but I couldn't see any when I examined the hood.

That sucks! Be thankful nothing happened. My car is only one month old and last week got a nice rock thrown at the windshield on the freeway and chipped the glass.

I'm glad I don't have to use that parking lot any more. Even on the main thoroughfare, I still managed to get debris hitting my car. Chips in my windshield, front bumper and my hood was a result of when GA400 was being repaved several months ago.

Kind of reminds me of these dump trucks you see on the highway with signs on the back "STAY BACK 200 FT, NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR WINDSHIELD DAMAGE".. My ass they aren't.... I followed a guy who had a dumptruck with this very sign after a quarter size rock hoped out of his truck and put a big ol' crack in my windshield.. I called the police and they pulled him over... The trucks insurance did end up picking up the cost of a new windshield...

Maybe a long shot, but do you play flag football in a church league? My asian friend Joseph plays every Sunday in a church league. He drives a 04 NBP TL also.

A couple of years ago, a friend of mine had a Christmas tree come flying off a truck at him on the highway. Scratched up the hood of his A4...

Yes it is a church league. I saw TL out there Sunday, but it was AM. This guy on our team also has a NBP but I don't think he's asian

Yes I hate those signs. Basically they are saying if they damage your car, then they aren't responsible even if its their fault for not securing their load. I'm glad the trucks insurance company covered your windshield. Did they try to fight it and give you a hard time?

Most likely a state to state law but one that isn't followed or enforced often enough is "covered" truck beds etc. Trucks hauling gravel, sand, whatever etc. having a possibility of blowing out of the trailer or bed etc., are supposed to be covered while on state highways (many roads for that matter).

They may have a sign but are responsible regardless...

If I had a dime for each time I saw this... And it will not be the first time.. Stop complaining and pull off the road for a few minutes is all.. Or are we suppose to see who had the weirdest thing come flying at them...? I had to dodge an upside down coffee table someone was trying to move and it fell off at 60 and came spinning in my direction. Anyone for an afternoon tea... !

Well I considered pulling over to the side, but it wouldn't have mattered. Because the truck was spilling so much stuff on the highway, even if I had pulled over all the cars that drove over that stuff would just kick it up again. I ended up being over a half mile behind him, yet the stuff continued to get kicked up as cars drove over them.
