my check engine light went on today, the computer is saying its a oxygen sensor.I shouldve knew it,my car was eating alot of gas.anyone had this problem before?any idea how much are these sensors cost?

should be warranty via the Emissions package to 80k miles
Are you under that mileage?
Call Acura dealer and ask if covered
or try your luck with 1-800-382-2238 x5

i dont know about warranty, its a 2004 with 38k. warranty should still be good. i just hate giving my car to the dealer! it can be one little sensor and these stupid techs will decide to change the whole motor loll.

what do you care if they change the whole motor? a freebie at 38k, maybe theywill toss in a trans for free too
Codes are not actual diagnosis- they are CLUES to a problem
Get it to the dealer and let them fix it. A CEL would cause it to fail smog test so you are covered-
you can read the warranty in the owner book too

The oxygen sensor is only covered for 4 years/50,000 miles. I forget how much, but the mileage has been extended a little more since Honda cheated. I think the increase is only about 500 miles or so.
The catalytic converter and a couple of powertrain modules are covered for 8 years/80,000 miles.
You can go here to check on the warranty coverage for your particular state.

Checker has them, kinda strange though. they range in price from $56 - $282 each, and you need 2. You also need a special socket that has a notch cut in it for the wire.... oh, and some bandaid's for your knuckles...the rear one looks like a b----!

ITS WARRANTY- dont mess with them- you dont even know if thats the real problem
Go to the dealer and complain of recent terrible fuel economy and let the tech decide what it needs.

damn now i have to find a decent dealer in the tri-state area. i have no problem with them replacing other things, its just when they do it, they forget to tighten some bolts or some other bullshit.I think the best thing is to take care of them before you leave the dealership.slip a crisp $50 bill

I take a box of donuts in with me when needing anything at the dealer.
Any close by dealer can do it, not a big job and no reason to touch any other parts of the car.
50 bucks!! you can buy your own and install it!
