Unhappy ::::::dammit Acura!!!::::::

During a very boring summer day, i wanted to try something with the plastic meter assembly. I didn't hesitate to experiment because i figured if i didn't like it, hell its only a $17 part to replace... so I bought some suede and glued it onto the part... unfortunatley it came out looking like crap.. i did some sanding to the plastic too, so if i use adhesive remover it will be all scuffed up... does anyone know a good matching trim paint?

So I go to acuraoemparts.com, looked for this part and ordered it. When i got it, it was some huge meter assembly from an accord or an oddesey. I called the # on the website and explained to the guy that the bag and receipt show the all the correct info, but the part inside was definitly incorrect. He said that he'll send another, 2 weeks later, i got the same crap! So right now both meter assemblies are being sent back, and I have no idea of where the hell to get this part if the dealer themselves can't figure out what the right product for their own car is.

I went to my local dealer, and they said that the only place that has in stock is Acura in Georgia and i think cali. So if i were to order it, then i'd likely get the same thing because they all get them from the same place (atleast that's what i was told). All i can think of is searching a salvage junkyard in NYC, and pulling one off a wrecked tl. but i can't go during the weekday...

I looked at the 07s, but they don't have the right side buttons, so those won't fit. My lesson is learned, leave that stuff to the pro's. But now where do i find a new meter assembly? Anybody know what I can do to get one? Or if you have yours painted, show some pics please..

heres what i need #4 P/N: 77200-SEP-A01ZA

they keep sending me this:

^i'm still afraid of ordering without seeing an actual pic of the part i'm buying. like i said, the part number, receipt, and even the bag it was in showed the correct Part #.

Acura part's told me that they don't have anything to do with that part.. they tell me it's their distrubutor that supplies it. so i'd end up with the same problem if i ordered it online...

Oh wow, well if you're going to get a new one anyways, you should try painting it and see how it comes out Sand it down lightly and you can try using like silver or something if it matches to kinda contrast?

I'm glad you're posting this as I was going to buy that part soon for the new radar detector mod I'm doing. I'll keep you updated if I can get ahold of the right part.

ok cool, and yea let me know definitly!

i just don't understand how Acura can't notice that this part is obviously not for the TL (which i'm pretty sure they created) before they ship anything. I may not have great memory, but if i worked at a dealership, I'd atleast know what most of the parts looked like on their current cars... wierd jeez..
