Dammit

3 weeks old, 900 miles, always park out in the boondocks, clayed and nxt'd, pampered like my own baby, and I gouge the right front fender putting away my lawnmower. $689. damage, repaint the entire fender, part of the hood and passenger door, remove and reinstall headlight, side marker light and God knows what else. I'm sick.

a van driving in front of me today ran over a rock that was on the shoulder. smashed the rock into a million pieces. grrrrrrr i tried to slow down and dodge it but a couple nicked me pretty good. i got 3 rock chips on my fender that is very visible from far away, and who knows how many chips on my bumper. how much does it cost to repaint a fender?

Depends (according to the estimator I talked with this morning) on the color. Because I've got the Redondo Red it's not a simple matter to blend and that's why for a one inch scratch they have to paint fender, hood and door to get it right. If yours is black or white in color it's easier to do a much smaller repair.

I take it in next Wednesday and it'll take 3 days to fix.....Thanks, I'll let you know how it turns out. I just have a little scratch, but I saw some brand new Lexus 470's, upper end Benz's (acid rain damage) and other new Acura's in their shop that really had some serious damage....very depressing.
