Well, I looked at the Texas (moving there next weekend) DPS website and if you remove the red reflectors in the tail lamp assembly, I would not be legal unless I got separate red reflectors and placed them somewhere on the TL's ass:
Rear Reflector
Rear Reflector
- Every motor vehicle shall carry on the rear, either as part of the tail lamps or separately, two or more red reflectors.
- Rear reflectors on a vehicle shall reflect a red color.
- Red reflectors required on the rear of a vehicle may be incorporated with the tail lamp assembly.
- Every reflector upon any vehicle shall be of such size and characteristics and so mounted as to be visible at night from all distances within 600 feet to 100 feet from such vehicle when directly in front of the lawful lower beams of head lamps.

^I was worried about that as well but instead of removing the reflectors, I sprayed them with NiteShadez. That way they look black but still reflect red.

Be VERRRRRRRY careful with this, my friend. I was pulled over by a statie and told I have 30 days to remove the brake light covers. I did. He pulled me over 32 days later and issued me another 'warning' not to do it again. True story.

LOL. I had considered that, but it looks great with the clears in place...IMHO
Thanks for the compliment, man. When I saw your pic, the first thing that came to mind was, "Oh, yeah. Someone else did it right!" Personally, I think this look is killer, and they look freaking great on your car. Bruce did a top-notch job as always, I couldn't see up close enough, but I'm assuming he added the pearl to the clear as well.
I'll stop in and check out your thread, your whip looks awesome...just be careful on 295!

Bruce...when you get a chance, get back to me on that PM about the pulley please. Off topic, but really want to see if you can get them.
Dan, you are a pioneer...this is one of those mods that I tried, and failed miserably at...even with finesse and the right tools...I couldn't open the lights without eventually cracking the lenses.

Those tails aren't stock option, the 07-08 TLs have the clear diffusers and red bezels. While the one you pictured has black bezels.

Anyway, this is my car. I got these tails from Bruce (AckTL05) They are basically 07-08 base tails with the bezels painted in satin black.

Just installed my new tail lights last weekend as well as my rear A-Spec bumper lip. Type-S with base brake lights on WDP. Side skirts will be put on this weekend and the front lip when my custom headlights (also from Bruce) come in in the near future

@ ACK - Those Taillights a couple threads up on that WDP are awesome. Can you see any red through those taillights when the sun hits them? Also what would I need to send you to have those taillights done the exact same way and cost? I'm in NY, and I drive an 08 base TL with the clear depo ones on there now, so I have the oem tails just sitting around. Thanks

What he did is basically take out the red brake light diffusers from the Type-S set and installed the clear brake light diffusers from the base tails and then sealed them back up.

^^ lol yes thats me! I'm surprised that there is someone on the forums around closter, nj.
You can see a bit of dark red when directly in the sun, I'll take a better pic in direct sunlight soon.

You see some what of red because it keeps it legal and visible with bulbs when lit. I make them as dark as I can without ruining the lights integrity.
