Skiiz23, first of all, you should post this in the general TL section because this thread is dedicated to just headlights modification by JnC.

Secondly, try searching for the topics in the TL section under what you are looking for.

Good luck.

Hi, I'm new here...I just looked at your work and it looks awesome . I cant pm at this moment...I have a 2007 Acura TL Base...I'm im interested with the carbon fiber inlays with clear diffusers, ZKW-r swap and possibly blacked out v2 (but dont know what that is...it just seems its popular and might be nice) and also possibly Halos...you please send me a few pics of how it would look like with those options and how much it would cost me at vmercado21(at)gmail(dot)com or send a text at (six five zero)-two seven four-four three one eight.... Thanks

JNC, which ones do you like better from Lightwurtz-Umnitza ? ?

The newer Predator Orion 2 (Audi-Style LED)

or

ANGEL EYES KIT - the CCFL's you've been doing

in terms of reliability, looks (I like the LED's myself). The e-bay add for the Predators is saying that it will block 10% of the projector's light. Is that an issue ?

JNC I'm still hunting a right headlight (have the left) and then we're in business

Slim, lights look great and I am glad that you got them just in time . Did you install the washers and also swapped over the rubber grommets that go around the DRL opening?? Kindly make sure that both are in place to insure a proper seal and as the poster above me stated, post some better pictures . Here is the thread where you can post pictures with details.

Sorry for the crappy pics. It was like 3:00 in the morning when I finished everything. I've got a couple decent pics coming soon.

Thanks again JnC. Yeah, I swapped over the rubber grommets for the DRL opening and replaced the cheesy foam washers with the new ones. One of the halos went out in the drivers' side. I think the wire came loose, so once I fix that, I 'll post up some pics.
I temporarily wired the halos to the parking lights. But a switch is in the works, because I don't want these things going out prematurely.

OK. Ready with two (great looking, better than mine) headlights off E-Bay.

My BIG problem now is what to get ? Predator Orion V2 or CCFL's ?

I like the look, day visibility and durability of LED's. Question is, how much light will they block ? Fact. Nobody is telling...

CCFL's ... If it's on the sunny side out, U can't see them much.

This is the same problem that im going through. The LEDs are nice to use as daytime running lights because they are bright and they also look nice at night. The thinline CCFL's are not really bright but they give the car a more aggressive look. So i dont know

I think there's a good amount of room around the lens of the projector. Factoring in the thickness of the LED lights, not a lot of light will be blocked IMO

Great minds think alike.

Now you can get the aggressiveness of the CCFL halos with the dependability of the LEDs.

Normal exposure.

-2.0 exposure.

Outside with -2.0 exposure.

Are U ready to go with installing those ? I think they will look great on TL headlights.

Do they come from Umnitza/Lightwurkz also ? I spoke with that guy (Anatoly). He was trying to bate me with some new blue LED's

Will they be closer to the great fit of the CCFL's ?

If you're good to go and confident, I can be the first one

What do you say ?

The LED ones shown above are certainly way more dependable and rigid than the CCFLs, they may block a bit of light but as I said in my PM its not enough to be noticeable.

Your headlights are crazy JnC. I don't even know where to start lol. Once I make up my mind, is there a pair I can buy straight up without using the trade-in program?

JNC, how about this dude's problem ?

Have you had any problems with other member's Orion V2's ?

You've been doing this long enough where you can give Umnitza/Lightwerks a A, B or F

I'm sure you're familiar with this guy's story

Yes, he had some wiring issue rather than any issue with the LEDs. He did rectify it by having a separate switch installed to have the halos on whenever needed.

He was more upset with the fact that Umnitza/Vendor wasnt much co-operative.

Umnitza and almost all the other vendors usually back their product with a replacement warranty but what they dont warrant is the fact that a failed product is still in the headlights and to replace it isnt easy. You'd have to send the lights to me to replace the failed product and to do that is a pain in the rear end. That is also one of the reasons whey I am not a huge fan of CCFLs.

I wanted to do the:
"Blacked out V2 with OEM amber diffuser, silver OEM bezel painted Anthracite, Flat (matte) Black finish"

but for the amber diffusers could we make them a darker amber?

maybe just by tinting them very and i mean very slightly

I dont want a blacked out or smoked look, just a deeper/slightly darker amber if that makes sense

hey newbie here...

im trying to figure out how this works...just got an 07 tl base model recently. if i wanted to get custom headlights made with angel eyes..where do i buy the angel eyes from? n how exactly does this process work? I buy them and then ship to JnC? Can I just include a picture of what it is that I want done to my car and someone tell me exactly what I need to buy and where? That would be much appreciated...

Thanks..

and I do apologize for any ignorance...this is a bit confusing to me since im a newbie...

I can do two things,

tint the diffusers, you can either do dark tint to almost match the gloss black paint I use or have it lightly tinted. Picture shows tinted diffusers, both light and dark.

or do the following .

Paint the reflector in the back partially, this way you will still have the same amount of light output from the turn signal as you do now in stock iteration but will give you a smoked out look.

OR we can do the following, in this case the turn signal reflector is fully painted with super high gloss black and leave the diffusers OEM. This way you get a complete smoked out look without doing anything to the diffuser yet still keep your light output, light output is around 60% compared to OEM.

Stp2585and mang03

You guys can either send your OEM lights in for the work or opt for the trade in program.

In either case you would have to discuss details with me as to how you would want your lights i.e. what modifications you want done. In case of angel eyes you'd have to purchase them through my vendor and either have them shipped directly to me or yourself and then ship them to me.

ZKW lenses, I have them in stock if needed.

CF, I use my own.

Tint for the diffusers, I use my own.

Color match paint option, I use my body shop for that, using paint from paintscratch.com costs about the same as the body shop quote.

JNC I sent you a PM but i'm sure you have tons at all times. To JNC or anyone this could be useful information for all and I feel it relates enough to be posted here! I need to know the Diameter of the Oznium Angel Eye rings, both the LED version and the CCFL thin rings. Outside diameter (mm) will be fine if anyone could provide this information!!! Thank you!

-Has anyone used the Angel eyes from Retro Solutions? They offer CCFL rings encased in plastic what make the rings look bigger. I have read very good reviews on various forums and Hidplanet about the quality and the best part they are not over priced only 35$ shipped for a set! Not sure what size (mm) would be best yet.

They also form a better circle if that is your thing, example below of some CCFL's from retro solutions

^^ The problem with TL headlights is that they are too narrow so a complete circle of a halo is tough to install on the projector bezel hence the CCFL kit halo is "U" shaped rather than "O".

I measured the Umnitza CCFL halo and its diameter is 72 mm. If it was a complete "O" then it would hit the top part of the black shroud but since its a "U" it fits perfect, the only issue is that it isnt that reliable.

Color match paint option, I use my body shop for that, using paint from paintscratch.com costs about the same as the body shop quote.[/QUOTE]

hey
im a new member so obviously i cant PM at the moment. is there a better way i can contact you to let you know what i want done? (an email or phone number perhaps??) i dont know exactly what its called that i want done to my car but i can show you a couple of pics of what i want done exactly...that might help...

thanks!!
