JnC, sent back my original headlights to you today. should be there saturday or monday. i never would have thought that replacing headlights would be so much work! it took me about 5 hours total (with breaks in between) because I didn't have a jack and no one to help...ridiculous! besides, i'm not really a hands-on person with my car. other than oil changes and rotating tires, this was my first DIY as far as installing them.
but the lights look GREAT!!! i'll post pics when i get a chance

I recommend 7443 bulbs from ebay that are chrome coated to be installed in the modified headlights. They shine amber when lit and blend in nicely due to their chrome finishing when turned off.

Important reminder!!
As mentioned in my first post this post is a reminder that for trade in program I ONLY accept headlights that are in STOCK form, I would not accept headlights that have been previously worked on by the owner OR any other reputable shop/member.

Got a couple questions:
How are most people hooking up the CCFL's and/or LED's? Directly to the running lights or a seperate switch?
What is the purpose of painting the foglight bulb cover? Anyone have pictures of this installed?
And do i need to provide you with the carbon fiber?
Thanks all!

I hope everything is goin well...I PM'd you in regard to the install (when I'm gonna be able to do it) of my lights and wanted to know if you checked the message. If you could please PM me back as soon as possible to verify that it's not going to be an issue. Thanks in advance. Take care man.
Btw, If you happen to know the type of LED bulbs that I need to purchase for the front side marker bulbs on my '08 I would appreciate the information.

Cool thanks man...sorry about the delay with the install, you know how business is sometimes unexpected trips come up.
In regard to the lights, the 7443 bulbs are used for the blinker as well as the front side marker bulbs? I bought the 7443's to install as my blinker bulbs and just wanted to make sure that those are in fact the correct bulbs for the front side markers as well before I buy em...thanks in advance

So I got my headlights and they are Much better than they were before I sent them to JNC. The full blacked out look goes much better with my car. The philips bulbs are good, and matched with the ZKW replicas I've got good light output and cutoff. I only wish I was able to get some real ZKW's bc even tho these are good they are not as good as some of the pictures i've seen with real ZKW lenses. Other than that the light output/quality on the new headlight is 9.5/10 and the old headlight is 8/10. I did see a little bit of fogging and the cutoff on the old headlight isn't quite as sharp. This could be due to the fact that it was previously opened. I did think the light output would have been the same bc its new lenses & bulbs but it's not...maybe the housing isn't as clear as it could be..? Overall I'm happy with this mod and the quality of Rook's work. I had been wanting to get my headlights re-done for a while now...I'll try to post some pics over the weekend when i'm back in Socal.

Also the clay desiccant inside the old damaged headlight is bad, I should have known better. I got new silica gel packs coming in soon and I'll be installing those in the new set of headlights that I'll be taking care of, this is due to the hazing problem that some people have been having recently. Since one of your headlight was brand new with a brand new clay desiccant you are not having that issue with that headlight.
Once I get the new silica gel packs I'll send you one which you can put in the back of the headlight to take care of the hazing problem.
Post pictures when you get a chance.

JnC, where's more of the pics with the Angel Eyes and the LEDs combined? I want to see some more pics to make sure it looks ok before I do it. I have to replace an eye anyway due to the darn ballast frying.

Click1d: Everything is done, I am just waiting on the new silica gel packs to come in so I can install them in your headlights before sending them off to you.
I got done with one headlight last week, the other halo is damaged so I am waiting on a new one to come in before finishing everything.
Here are some pictures.
Headlight, nothing turned on
Just the halo
just LEDs
Both
Both, picture taken at low exposure.

Hey JnC, I'm getting a little bored with the angel eyes in my type s headlights, lol.
I was wondering if you could find an LED strip that has LESS LED's on them; the leds you have now seem like a straight line, and I want my headlight to have a lower number of leds so as to look like this.......
You know what I mean

Where are you located JnC? Are you willing to sell a set of headlights blacked and cleared w/out trade? My left light is cracked and the other is broken due to vandals. Hope you can make an exception.
Thanks

It can be done and I even tried doing it as well with 5 mm replica superflux LEDs from Ebay, there is just way too much labor involved plus there isnt any reflective material there to give the leds a wider viewing angle. At least with the strip the LEDs are covered with a cover that gives them a wider viewing angle.
If anything you can have the LEDs painting to block light from them so rather than having LEDs in a OOOOOO set yo you have them in an O O O O O array.
