CRASH! im so f***ed!

well on wednesday a girl smashed into my drivers door causing the air bags in the driver seat and driver side headliner to deploy. the front driver door is completely smashed, my aspec side skirts fell off, the fender is gone and the dashboard is cracked/ripped in various places. im so depressed. i saved up for two years to buy this car and now it may be totalled. ill post pics of the damage soon.

might i also add this happened on my two year anniversary with my lovely girlfriend, and the day after my birthday. i have the absolute worst luck right now

XjoEnX,
Sorry to about your baby, I can feel your pain! Are you and your girl OK!
Truely the important part is that you and your girl are ok, and if you had the worst luck you could have been fubar'd also.
I hope the car gets a speedy recovery!

I know the feeling. Right now, you feel violated... like you don't really want your wrecked car back. You want a new one, untouched and presitine. You know that while your damaged TL can be fixed, it'll never be the same again.. not like when you bought it fresh from the factory. It's really a sinking and stinking feeling.

But try to take heart. The most important thing is that you and your lady are Ok. And you CAN get another TL. Hope everything works out to your favor.

I feel your pain. I had my 2003 tl-s for 3 months and got rear-ended at 50 mph and I was stopped and hit the car in front of me. Well $15,000 later and 3 months they fixed the car. I wanted them to total it but you need I think 75% before they will. My car actually rides just as good. i just had new tranny and new tires and it rides just as good as the day i bought it and it has 91,000 miles on it. Oh yeah I also had 2 shoulder surgeries, so be thankful you didn't get hurt.

It sounds like you are okay, which is as others say, the most important thing. Bummer about the car though, I can understand your pain. If you need to look at the bright side, watch a couple episodes of "Cops" :-). At least you're not running around with your shirt off and a beer belly on national tv having half the words come out of your mouth bleeped out as you're being ushered into a police cruiser :-).

Terrible story! Kudos to Honda once again for a safe exit. It seems we are all able to walk away from our TL mishaps.

This is why I rather lease a car. There are too many careless drivers out there. No matter how hard a body shop tries, the car will never be as good as it used to be after it's been repaired. With a lease I know I can get the car repaired, maybe drive it another year and then turn it in for a new car.

Actually, that's one of the reasons I DON'T lease! With a lease, if the car isn't totalled, you're basically stuck with it until the end of the lease, unless you want to pay who knows what to get out of the lease. If you own the car, after it's fixed, you can trade it in whenever you feel like doing so. Yes, it may be worth a little less if you have to disclose the accident, but that's true no matter what.

Sorry about your car, but remember it's just a car. Be happy you aren't dead or in a wheel chair for the rest of your life!

thanks for all the feedback and support. luckily my girlfriend was not in the car. i forgot to mention that, i was driving alone. im not injured, my shoulder and stomach muscles are sore and my right hand is cut up from the window breaking but nothing too serious. thank acura for those side curtain airbags though, if they hadnt popped open the glass would have flown towards my face and who knows the damage that would have done. i have pics but i cant find the cable to my usb port, im still looking for it.

I dont think its totalled, my mother did $9,000 worth of damage to our car and the front was all smashed up, I have pictures of it I will upload them for you once I find them. I think your looking at around $6,000 worth of damage, hopefully you didnt bend your chasis or anything... Thank god everybody was fine though, its a shame your car was beautiful buddy.

How bad is it below the door.. is it bent?

What about the front suspension and under the hood.. anything twisted?

the only damage below the door that i have seen was just the side skirt being separated from the car, theres no damage to the front suspension an no damage under the hood.
