You threw your phone at it?

Not sure if I can sympathize with you. You asked for it.But in either case, guess you'll have to call Acura for a quote.

so I have to ask....why did you do it man? Couldn't you have aimed for the passenger side floor board or something? The repair will be costly, but if it still works and doesn't look like complete just grind it out for a while. Can you post a pic or two of the damage?

I bet you never thought after you threw your phone at it you'd have to throw your wallet at it

Try eBay. I saw a few OEM sets for under 1g.

Is the Navi still functional?
You might want to come up with a better story than that dude. He's gonna give you the ole with that one. I am one who believes that honesty is usually the best policy.

The conversation might go like this:
You: Dad, someone broke into my car last night.
Dad: What did they take?
You: The didn't take anything, but they did take my $400+ I-phone and throw it at my Navi Screen which is now cracked.
Dad: So they left phone in the car and just threw it at your Navi screen?
You: Correct.
Dad:

Unfourtuantley, you kinda screwed yourself with this one. probably not what you wanted to hear, but it might just be best to man up.

lol what do you mean you manned up? you lied to the cops. manning up would have been admitting you broke it yourself and dealing with it. Either way, that sucks, but at least you wont be shelling out the full cost.

get one off of ebay. The screen is separate from the radio. $2-300 if you can wait for a deal. Or you can check car-part or any local salvage yards.

Don't insurance companies check internet forums for insurance fraud?

OP, you should read the manual. Throwing your phone at the nav is not how to pair it.

you just said you threw your phone at your navi and cracked it... then went to the police station and filed a police report... for what? What did the police report say? You threw your own phone at your own car and broke your own property!? Now insurance is covering it?

lol

This is your original post with part of your original quote put in bold...

hows it fraud some really did steal something from my car broke the nav and i got pissed through my phone at the nav this thread was about how repairing and insurance is doing that...

That is one of your last posts, with yeat again another on e of your quotes in bold...so which one is? Was the nav screen broke by you throwing your phone at it or was it broke during the "break in"?

I am not sure if you would call the members here assholes as it seems that you are realizing how much of an idiot you are for throwing your phone at your nav screen. Might want to watch what you say

I somehow doubt the police would file a report for you destroying your own property... so you must have lied and said somebody else damaged it... lying = fraud... lying to insurance = insurance fraud.

make sense yet?

don't you think that the police have better things to do than take and file your false claim? Good waste of taxpayer money IMHO. Insurance fraud and filing false claims with the Police is not something to f**k around with...

This is partly why insurance rates are the way they are. Insurance companies have to figure incidents like these from goobers like you into their cost analysis. Then honest people, the ones who pay and follow the rules, get bukaked. Thanks pal!

I am having a little trouble getting over your "well i manned up and filed a police report" comment...what you should have said was " well I didn't man up, I lied threw my teeth to a sworn officer of the law and I don't give a shit because I am moron who threw my phone 3.5 inches into my nav screen"

Do you mind me asking what was stolen that got you so fired up you decided to break your nav? I am sure it could have been replaced, unless it was a family heirloom or a Faberge Egg.

you know what though? He should post and try to defend himself. I want to see how he can win this argument.
plus i can see that if someone's mad enough about what he did to OUR insurance rate going up, i'm sure someone can backfire his claim.

OPs vehicle may be under his dads insurance. True... OP won't be initially shelling out the full cost... but filing a claim may raise insurance rates (especially when OP is under the age of 25)

Side note to OP: It may have been an accident but you need to control that anger issue of yours. It's a shame you're taking your tantrums out on your TL.
