is this covered under warranty?
if your car is still pretty new then totally yes. but I would think after time that could be said to be wear and tear...

So how often do you take your cats for a ride.....????
JK!!
That is quite peculiar... I had a strange "melting" issue with my front seat-back leather and they replaced it without question.
Good luck

try another dealer...Mine was a 04..and they said that they would replace it this one time...so they ordered the leather and will call me when it arrives..and mine was a lot worse than yours.
I call BS too. If you bought the car in Feb, then I don't care what YOU put on there (maybe except for ACID), but 5 months later, it shouldn't look like that. If it was due to abuse before you owned it, then that's ACURA's responsibility, since they SOLD you the car with that "pre-existing" condition.
Typical Acura Service response..... Whether its the dealership service team or the regional Acura Rep, they should go to bat for every issue. Sure the manufacturer wants to avoid "non-fault" warranty repairs - but given the age and issue here, it shouldn't even be a question.
Many of you may not believe it but I guarantee your service advisor's are Acura "trained/schooled" in canned responses to issues like this. IE, what to say to keep the customer from thinking it's warranty and focus on some other "fault"...
Total BS
lil12002,
I would call Acura TLC (like the words "total, luxury, and care" should be associated with Acura "service" in the first place
) and open a complaint and explain the situation and dealership response etc.. It may do no good due to them usually siding with the dealership, but you have nothing to loose
Acura man - if your listening: Keep up the good work at loosing repeat customers!!

when did you notice this happen? was it a one day thing where you noticed it or did you notice it for a while? This couldn't happened in one day and I've never seen leather turned like this unless something was put on it.
did you try to clean the headrest with some sort of chemical? we need more details from you. you're only asking us if acura will cover or not. you never told us how this happened.

well acura replaced it under warranty finally! i took it in to another dealer to get serviced, they replaced it no problem, now whether it was because my friend was the tech who did the service or it was because i took the car in and my friend hooked it up.
On the topic of worn leather seats, I've had my car for about a year and have 25,000mi, do you guys think there is any chance they'll be able to warranty my cracked leather? It looks really awful as well.

Perhaps we should be looking at pictures of the stuff you put in your hair and the chemicals used in it, instead of the peeling leather. Maybe that will shed a little more light on the situation. You could start wearing hats...
