Covercraft Window Heat shield

Just wanted to let u know, I just received my Heat Shield and for anyone questioning the fit of this product - it is dead on. I was actually impressed (and that almost never happens for me) it is an excellent, custom fit. Obviously I just got it, and it is not exactly hot out - so any review as to the effectivness of it will have to wait - but as far as:
  • Full coverage of dash: A+
  • Stays in place: A+
  • Time to install in window: A+
  • Construction: A+
  • May make mark on dash as you put in window: D (saw a scuff mark this morning on dash, but it was still dark, this could be a problem if going in and out of window each day) This will drop to an F if marks do not come off or appear each day.
  • Cost: B+ (a little steep for a window shade, but initial impression is it will last for the life of the car - so no biggie. Some websites appear to sell it cheaper, but I could not get a hold of them to order - no phone calls returned, website not working etc. = shady!)
I will have to wait until December 26th to try it again - since my wife insited it get wrapped and is now a Christmas present - I know :ghey:

those reflective heat shields never did that great a job for me cause the other 4 windows and the rear window lets light in and heats the car. i had better luck with a dark tint that filtered out light.

Very true. But in NJ I can't tint. Well, check that - I can do whatever I want, I do not have the stones to do it - call me chicken.

I agree, in fact said the same thing to my wife, sun has PLENTY of other windows to get in the car.

First, the windshield is the biggest window, and at the angle that allows the most energy in - 2nd, the shield protects the dash from UV and helps it reduce its temperatre buildup - it is a huge heat sponge, and it takes the A/C quite a while to offset it.

I've had one of these heat shields for my CL windshield, it's great. I got mine a little cheaper from a supplier on ebay. much better than the foil ones that fold or roll. high quality. looks great on the car too.
