Cool features on your TL!!

So I just bought a new 2008 TL w/Navi yesterday and still very new to it. What cool features are there that you have discovered on your TL that would like to share ??

Not sure about the 08 but i recently discovered that on the 05 you can disable the trunk release button by flipping a switch in the glove box on the left side. Since i found this i've flipped the switch and locked the glove box, so you must use the remote to open the trunk.

Try pressing you unlock button twice on your key fob, but hold it down and watch the windows and sunroof open.

In the 3G Garage, there's a long thread devoted to new features: https://acurazine.com/forums/tl-tlx-frequently-asked-questions-95/have-you-found-any-new-features-3g-garage-l-001-summary-post-1-a-546085/

FWIW, 90%+ of those features can be found by reading the owner's manual.

Congrats and welcome to AZ!

Something I always thought was cool was you can set your settings to automatically lock your doors after reaching 10 mph. You have auto headlights but for us 04-06 owners who dont have it, we can leave our lights on at night, hit the lock button twice on the remote and the headlights turn off.

you can just turn the key in the ignition and let it go and the car will start without you holding the key...

OMG! I thought I was the only one. I just noticed this like a few weeks ago. I had been wondering like about puttin stuff in the trunk and people hitting the trunk release because there was no lock but never investigated. I guess I just don't open my glovebox that often

One of the really neat features that I discovered on this site a few years ago is the fact that our sun visors can be extended once you have moved them to the side windows. This helps keep the sun out of your face. This is NOT in my owner's manual for my '04 TL.

Something neat i noticed not specifically off the TL but has to do with TLs in general is that 04-06 TL owners know more about 07-08models than the 07-08 owners themselves.

ever wonder what the MAX is for? If you press max, it changes all interior lights to the brighest setting. Hit it again, and it turns back to your old setting.

one feature i've yet to get used to is pulling the lever to pop the gas tank. if i get 5 tanks a month i have to go back in and pull the damn lever 3 of them. my fault, i drove my Pontiac for over 6 years and just opened it outside.

other than that the red illumination at your feet at night is cool.

You mean just the cluster and dash lights will light up the brightest setting, not the interior dome lights.

What exactly is the point of the lights that make your feet glow? I would disconnect mine if I wasn't so lazy.
