Cool feature on TL-S
I discovered a really "cool" feature on my '07 TL-S last night that I have not seen mentioned anywhere.
When your car is stopped, click the + on the paddle shifter to go to second gear, and it starts out in second gear. This is very valuable for us who live in areas of a winter climate, as your traction would be substantially increased on slippery surfaces.

When in Sport Shift, it has a 2nd gear start.
Say you're in Sport Shift (out of habit maybe) and in the Mall Parking Lot. At a full stop, click into 2nd gear. The car will NOT automatically downshift to 1st gear the next time you stop.
It will stay in 2nd until you use the SS to either up or down shift. Better than running around the parking lot in 1st and 3000 rpm. Also nice around the neighborhood, droppin the kids at school, etc.

And what is this "winter" that you speak of?

Actually, what gets strained is the clutch on a 6MT, not the engine.
