Considering purchasing '05 TL High Mileage

There is an 05 TL on sale not too far from where I live. Vehicle has 149K on it, but the carfax report shows the vehicle has been serviced around 30X at the acura dealership. Would you consider this a solid buy at 10K?

For $10k you can get a TL with lower miles.

I was thinking that, but it's hard to find TL's with the 6sp. MT around my area. There is one for 13K with 83K on it, but the carfax is not AS clean as the one with 149...

Hard to pass up a clean 6MT. I would certainly ask the seller about the timing belt service as pohljm said. If things check out and car is up to par on maintenance I wouldn't let the 149K be a deterrent.

10k is a bit much, but it's good as long as the previous owner maintained it properly

Looking at the car fax, the person took the vehicle in every 6K miles.. Based on what I was seeing, it seems that all scheduled maintenance was performed up to the time the person sold/traded the vehicle in..

I asked about bargaining on the phone, but they stated the price on the net was their wholesale price. Going to go down there today and see what happens when I'm in front of them.

Post like these make me feel dumb for considering to sell my '07 just because it's over 100k. Good look op and try to bargain them down!

I just paid $10K for my 05 TL with AT and exactly 100,000 miles on her. Very clean inside and out and clean Carfax. Yeah, key factor is that 105K tune up! If not that belt could go at anytime and that would not be a good thing! I've noticed many people sell/ trade cars just before a major tune up to avoid the extra cost of the service.

This is the actual carfax report, and the reason why I'm actually considering it...

Extensive maitanence records. But i do notice first tranny fluid change came a little late. However, not sure if its different from AT. Every 30k is proper for tranny fluid drain for AT. Still overpriced for the mileage. Dealer probably picked it up for $5K at auction. $8K would be a great buy. GL
