Concept: Turn Signal CONSTANT wire cancellation
Ok, so, we all known switchbacks are essentially dead within a year, and for some of us, there aren't a whole bevy of options available to give us a clean, white look on the headlamps if one chooses not to go this route.
So, here's a concept to pitch, just looking for your opinion:
What do you think of snipping the constant wire such that the turn signal ONLY energizes when the turn signal is on?

Hm, still trying to comprehend what you're going for.
Do you mean completely get rid of the white running light, and only enabling the amber to power on when engaging the turn signal?
If so, I have been dying to find out how to do this, for YEARS.
Without any corner light with headlights on looks really clean, and an amber/off/amber/off led light is even cleaner.

The 7443 bulb has 4 wires. 2 are a ground (they share a single wire coming out of the socket) and then there is a wire for the white and one for the yellow. Instead of snipping the wire, you can just throw some e-tape over that contact that would like up the steady burning white light.
As a matter of fact, you can just buy an all amber LED bulb, which is probably cheaper, and do the same thing, and it will have the same effect.

Brian - I was playing with these wires back in the winter and managed to sucessfully run power for turn ONLY. Mind you, I was using LED strips, not a bulb, so I am not 100% on how this would work for a standard filament-style bulb.
SO, it can be done...I'm going to try and DIY it up in a few weeks. I thought it would look clean and was just curious to to what others thought.

Is this for a Base or Type S? If it's for the Base, then it's the 7443 bulb. For the Type S and the 1157 bulb, just tape over the nub on the bottom of the bulb that connects to the constant on. There are 2, one for the blinker, one for the parking light. I had it setup like that on my old car.
Ive never liked the switchbacks.. Ive had my amber LED turn signals since the beginning.. they look sweet IMO.
In regards to only have the turn signal blink.. when i was a civic fan boy, people used to cut the "always on" wire in the turn signals because thats how some of the cars are in Japan. Looked soooo different at night! I am curious to see what it will look like in our headlight.. but, honestly I like the orange leds on in my headlight.. lol
Im gonna slap on some clear headlights with the amber reflector removed to see how the leds look without them.. Ill post pics.
But this is how it looks now.. its a deep deep orange.

If you want to do this it's as easy as snipping the parking light wire in the corner lights, however, this will be illegal at night because you must have either a white or amber corner marker in the front of the car.
Yeah this is easy. One would just have to use a multimeter and figure out which wire to snip and call it a day. The 1157 is a dual filament bulb, so one wire powers one filament and the other wire powers the second one to make it brighter and blink.
