Can you say, "forget waiting for Acura to release its A-spec lowering springs as a separate product"? I can. This is REALLY tempting.

I know Eibach and H&R both make springs, Eibach lowers to 1", H&R to 1.50". Other than that, any other differences?

Danno, Comptech makes parts specifically for Honda/Acura cars and their parts are often stocked and installed by Acura dealers. Other than that, not that much difference. I owned Comptech springs on my previous TL and enjoyed the resulting ride greatly, thus my excitement.

I installed the Eibach springs and the camber on the rear wheels ended up out of spec. Had to install the camber kit.

Make sure if you're going to do the upgrade, you also install the camber kit from Specialty Products at the same time. The one from Ingalls reduces the track width as it replaces the two lower arms. They tout that their kit can accomodate toe adjustment but the stock arem accounts for that. The specialty products kit replaces the upper arm so you keep your track width.
Too much camber on the rear wheels will increase understeer.
The installation time seems too low. They have to remove the rear seat and get to the rear shocks through the passenger cabin.
Took 4-5 hours on mine.

Reading rkillian's post, I remembered one other advantage of the Comptech springs with my previous TL....they are designed so that the TL doesn't require a camber kit. It was one of the things that swayed me toward them despite their cost. It's too early to say whether the new Comptechs will have the same advantage.

I got this information from Joe Sierro from Comptech.

The springs for the new '04 TL will be the same ones that we use on the TSX,We do recommend camber kits as it changes anytime you lower the ride height. You won't know if you need them until the car is aligned, so it might save you labor costs to have them installed the same time as the springs. However, you can always have them put in at a later time if necessary. The fronts sells for $99.00ea (#160-070) and the rears for $90.00ea (#160-068). You will need a total of 2 fronts and 2 rears as each side takes one kit.

I was thinking of lowering mine after seeing rkilian's ride, but I have already hit the front spoiler 2 or 3 times in driveways and the like. The spoiler is a plastic part that sticks down under the nose about 2 inches. I wonder if you lower the car if if would hurt to cut about an inch off to offset the car height change. What do you think?
