blusap, rear camber kit isn't always necessary. If the only thing you care about is getting everything like factory, sure, get a camber kit. But if you want everything to be in factory state, why lower the car in the first place.

Camber is not critical in tire wear, toe is. As long as your camber isn't extremely off, you will be OK. Your tire wear won't show any difference than if you leave your car stock.

Read MrHeelToe's sticky in the Suspension section for more information.

Those of you who doesn't want to pay Koni's price, get Tokico HP for about half the price. The performance won't be as good as Koni, but still better than stock. Excelerate carries them in stock.

Good aftermarket shocks are highly recommended if you're lowering your car.

just in another input for you TLerrrssss...

i was thinking about getting these cause of the price - yes!! they are UNBELIEVABLE!! - but after reading a lot of info about springs and shocks and coil overs - i thought about it and i will pass on this deal - reason why is - i am planning to be tradding or selling my car after 5 - 6 years - i will need all my OEM parts - i dont want to ride out my oem shocks and later on have to replace them - so i rather go for a full tein SS coil overs setup - at least if anything goes wrong i will still have my OEM shocks - fyi I live in NYC - if i do spings and oem shocks - i am looking at - less then 15000k on my OEM shocks. - If i wasnt leaving in a pot hole city - i would go for this setup.

as in shock and spring setup - i would go for koni shocks and comptech spirngs - you get what you pay for

Boy did you loose me on this one ... with a 1" drop its not going to have much if any effect on OEM shock life. Unless the OEMs are high milage then they are worn out anyway. Now if your point is you want coilovers so you can swap out in 5 years so be it but if you left your car stock .. in 5 years would the shocks be worn out? Doubt it. And they shouldn't be with a 1" drop.

I did some research in the VW forums about this wives tale with a drop wearing out stock shocks and we were talking 2.5" not 1 " .. and no one .. reapeat no one had premature shock wear on low mile shocks.

I ran stock shocks for 25K on Eibach Pro Kit springs without an issue.

Potholes are more of an issue with bottoming and rim bending.

It isn't that aggressive of a drop so the OE shocks should work fine but if the OE shocks have a lot of miles on them then yes you should replace them. I recommend the TOKICO HP's with this setup. The shocks are $290 shipped

The 3rd gen TL is pretty sensitive to lowering springs in terms of camber in the rear. A rear camber kit couldn't hurt but the only way to tell if you need a kit is to get an alignment.

Shocks are a wear item. They will eventually "blow" regardless of lowering springs or not. In some cases lowering springs will speed up that process. This is a a very conservative spring/drop so the OE shock shouldn't be affected that much. However, if you would like TOKICO HP shocks are a good shock to pair with these springs. They are $290 shipped.

TOKICO has them for the 7th gen Accord V6 which is the same as the TL. TOKICO will release TL specific shocks but they will be physically the same as the 7th gen Accord shocks just maybe slightly more aggressive since the TL weighs a little more. I hav ethe TOKICO's for $290 shipped, Comptech springs $135 shipped and Ingalls rear camber kit for $150 shipped.

Yea, just got it on my type S. Looks good, but there are a few lights on my dash - VSA and ABS - I didnt get an alignment yet so maybe after that they will go off, but either way it looks better than i expected and the ride isnt bad at all.

They didnt have an updated computer to hook up to my car, but i think the mechanic just damaged one of the sensors, im going to bring it to acura for them to check out and tell me which exact thing is damaged. But other than that, these springs are great and would def recommend, cant wait till i get my 19s back on so i can see the drop at its best lol.

Pretty certain that this guy is the ONLY one who has had any problem like this with Springs. Others have issues when they do things that impact the electrical components (like the throttle body spacer) but I have not heard of ANYONE having such an issue with Spring changes. In reading the thread it appears that whoever did his spring work screwed up and "mistakenly" disconnected something.

Maybe he had other work performed at the same time they did his springs and that other work is what caused his issues?

No other work was done, im sure that the mechanic just disconnected something or damaged a sensor. Nothing to be worried about lol, if your considering these springs, def go for them, you cant go wrong for that price.

Drop looked alot better with my stock rims, prob because there was much more tire to fill the gap. What's a good size tire for these rims - 19 x 8 - tires i have on now are too thin. ill try to get some better pics up tomorrow night.

These lowering springs aren't going to affect anything electronic. It's likely that the mechanic damaged something in the installation or unplugged something unnecessary.

acura techs are ~$90-95/hr or so I believe. you can probably get them installed for $150-$250 at a suspension shop.

Yeah..I agree with enigmaos..and plus you're in NJ/NY..I'm sure you can get hooked up for alot cheaper than 600. You should ask your local dealer anyways though
