Comptech Catback Exhaust

Does anyone have an 2004 or 2005 Acura TL with COMPTECH CATBACK (STAINLESS) exhaust installed and happen to have a SOUND CLIP that they might wan to share? I'm thinking about getting it but would like to know how loud it would be.

thanks

Hi,

Does this Catback exhaust VOIDs out the warranty on the car? And also, is the noise really loud only when you floor it or is it very loud even when driving regular?

Thanks.

Hello:

The installation of the Comptech Cat Back does not void the Acura Warranty on the car. However I would have to think the warranty on the Cat Back itself is a Comptech issue.

As for the sound, it is LOUDER than the original cat back.... this sound is heard even when in cruise control. It is a low pitch sound that certainly is able to be heard. At about 2500RPM it is a little louder than I would like. I'm 55 so if I have the radio on I have to have it a level that masks the cat back sound.

The folks at Comptech saved my original cat back "in case I would want it back". I will let them know they can dump it...

I will keep the Comptech Cat Back...

Thanks Tim for the helpful review. If I get the Catback exhaust, could I get it installed from the dealership or would I have to find a local shop.

For everyone else, is this the best exhaust system that is out there for our TL right now .... or are there any better?
Any coming out soon thats worth the wait???

Any setbacks from the comptech cat back exhaust?

Thanks for all the suggestions guys!

Tim,

Is there any way you can record the sound clip of the catback exhaust and post it on these forums...so I can get an idea of its loudness?

Also, do you think its loud enough to be obnoxious sometimes?

Thanks Alot!

I have the comptech cat back installed. If you click on the thread titled '04 WDP on volks' theres a link to a video clip of the TL on a dyno.

Could someone record the original TL's sound clip, too? for the comparison purpose... you don't want to bring your laptop to your car and play it, right?

Cool

Where should I get this installed from once I have the Catback Exhaust?

Are there any exhaust coming or out there already that are better than comptech?

THANKS guys!

Hello:

Many Acura Dealers will install Comptech products. I would check in your area. For me the sound is fine.. It is louder than the original cat back, but that's what I wanted..

I'm not sure how to record a sound ship and then how to post it.. I took some pictures of the Comptech install and have not fully figured out how to post them. There are some pictures of the meet Saturday in the Bay Area of SFO. There is 1 pictures on that post that shows my car with the Cat Back...

Thanks,

Tim

Thanks for the video clip, however, it's hard to really get a jist of it since the car was up for the dyno..... but I guess that's as close as anyone have for the video clip...oh wells...
