Comprehensive List of 2004 TL Reviews

The list is back. Took me a few days to get all the links together (I DO work, you know....someone's gotta pay for this dang car!) So again, thanks to need4spd, who inspired the list by doing the same on A-TSX.com....

Thumbs up Re: Comprehensive List of 2004 TL Reviews

Appreciate all your efforts of having them together. Ppl should be able to review this terrific vehicle of Acura easily and thoroughly by accessing this thread.

Hope both of you and system could have the full backup this time.

Added several new links:

San Antonio Express-Press (10/5/03)
Cleveland Plain Dealer (2/22/04)
Ward's Auto World (11/1/03)

The links to our own site are broken, but I'm waiting for server maintenance to be completed before I make corrections.

Added, thanks. My favorite line:

"How to improve this car:
-add automatic headlights
-make AWD an option
-Make mine Pearl White"

A fair review that mentions the mild torque steer, makes a fair criticism that AWD should be an option, but otherwise is a competent car.

Thanks for the additions! Will add them to the list after work today. The first one I had to respond to the website to correct their info. I don't think it matters, Automobile Focus is mostly meant for American cars anyway.

This is a very good review. Sorry if I am repeating an already posted review.

Thanks for the new links, they've all been added. We've got over 60 links to reviews. Even Acura's own TL minisite is not this complete. I'll add the Autoweek update on the A-Spec (there was a brief review in December that's been listed for some time) when it makes it online.

Here's the link to the 3/1/04 Motor Trend review on the A-spec. I'll try to add it to the list if I can get the mods to release the new "5 minute" edit rule.

I really hope you can do it... this is the pain of neck if the thread initiators cannot update their info, especially the very valued thread like this.

Here's a link to the Road and Track review from the April issue. On the whole, they like the car, but find torque steer on bumpy roads and on bumps during turns. They also tested the A-Spec and call $5200 "reasonable". Eh.

Robert Farago, from Pistonheads (a British web site) savages the TL, calling it an Accord and bitching about FWD much worse than C&D did. You can leave comments.

Must have scored some bad dope. After saying virtually nothing good about the car he concludes with "it's a steal" and "maddeningly close to greatness". WTF?

Bob, thanks for responding ! My 2001 Honda Civic that I bought for my son at college, was one of the first made, re-designs for 2001. 2 minor recalls for simple problems. ( I forget it was not even worth remembering )
I was so impressed with this car, that I bought a 2003 for my other son and wife to use.

Lastly, My 95' Maxima, was an early production model that is in mint condition and runs like a Swiss Watch. So as you can see, I have purchased early production models in the past. Like I said yesterday, I really got spooked after reading hundreds of posts. I think I'm feeling better now and I probably will order a 2005 TL in the fall.
Thanks for your kind opinion.

Angry Convertable Acura and Accord

Is Acura ever going to build a conver? I know they have the NSX, but so what? BMW has the Z8 and yet they also have a 3 series convertable.
Audi as a small convertible, Saab does, Cadillac has one, so does Lexus.
Second note: Is Honda ever going to respond to Toyota by making a convertible version of the Accord 2Dr? I love everything Honda, but lately it seems that the dream doesn't have any power.
They need to fix that Element too.

2004 Acura TL A-Spec

WASHINGTON (CBS MW) -- Sometimes you can have your cake and eat it too, or at least come within a layer of frosting of doing that.

The new Acura TL is, in short, one of the best blends of luxury and performance on the road. Inside is a fine combination of luxury touches and design goodies that immediately announce this is a very modern, clean design. See the jazzy blue instruments in the slide show.

. . . .

Automotive Industries Magazine Review

Here's another review from an industry trade magazine.

http://www.ai-online.com/issues/arti...ail.asp?id=555

Short article: They got GREAT gas mileage. Only complaints? Cupholders and dented aluminum trim. Not too bad if those are the only 'issues'.

04 TL Motorweek Long Term Review

I don't think anyone posted this one (there is a link to the regular review and car of the year in the first post but couldn't find a link to the long term review)

Last update was April 2005 when it ended which is fairly recent.

http://www.mpt.org/motorweek/longterm/tl04.shtml

Enjoy
PS if someone already posted it no flames, if not points pls
