Compartments in front of shifter
What is your use for the compartments in front on the shifter?
I have 4 CD cases in the upper one and I still can't find anything small enough for the lower one.
Just "trolling" for ideas you know

the remote display lets you relocate the lighted deatures elsewhere so they do not show up on the windshield
Top compartment...my ear piece for my cell phone (damn Nextel for not having a bluetooth phone and me having till fall to go on my contract).
Bottom...the parking card for my garage at work. Nothing else will fit there.
This is one of my small pet peeves about the TL, versus my 01 Accord Coupe. The Accord had a fairly large, open compartment things could temporarily be set in. The TL is lacking in storage space. The Accord had a little slide out drawer in the dash to the left of the steering column my parking card fit in. That and a sunglass holder in the ceiling, where they belong---
wtf is up with a sunglass holder in the door? I have to use my right hand reaching across my body, moving my leg out of the way to get my ray bans. Accord? Just reach up, and there they were, protected from dust, rattling around, etc.

Well, one more related question to this thread then:
Do you use the power socket in the lower compartment in front of the shifter or do you use the one in the center armrest instead?
I use the armrest power jack to charge my Nokia on long road trips.

I am grateful for those two compartments as they're perfectly placed (if you're right handed). Those designers, they thought of everything on the TL, boy.
Damn. Almost got my G-tech to fit in there but the damn power cord was in the way. Too bad, would've been a nice spot for it instead of using the suction cup on the windshield.
Driver Side Door Compartment: Sunglasses w/case and parking lot ticket stubs
Passenger Side Door Compartment: Trash bin for my girl.
Armrest Deep Compartment: 5 CD cases, 1 DVD-A case, and mobile phone charger; wishing for Nextel Bluetooth soon.
Armrest Shallow Compartment: Coin holder filled to max and pennies loose in open area.
Lower Center Dash Compartment: Garage door opener; until I get a ladder to set training mode on the garage unit itself.
Upper Center Dash Compartment: 2 packs of Eclipse gum; Cherry and Lemon.
Glove Compartment: Acura owner binder and tire pressure gauge.
Front Passenger Rear Pull Compartment: Kleenex
There... a full inventory.
Oh yeah, occassionally the space between seat and center console... my Glock 32.
Because you never know.

I had one of these leather keyboard covers that I wasn't using anymore. It's 100% leather with a suede backing:

I just cut pieces (using paper as templates) for both compartments. It's heavyweight enough that it doesn't shift around and now I can put anything I want in the upper/lower compartments without things rattling and making noise.
I could have used felt but that probably would have shifted around too much since it's too slippery. A silicone based material might be good but they're usually grippy on both sides (which may be a good thing for some.)
That's what I'm talking about! SIG SAUER P228 9mm

Thanks. I'm thinking how to stuff it and make tight.

Also, I limit what I keep in the car so as to not tempt anyone. I almost caught some guys one time after they broke into my stang, but I saw some object that may have been a weapon (pointed it at me) and I ceased the chase. Soon after that... I got my Glock!

Same here in NJ - I was just pretending for a bit....229 is nice. My bro-in-law has that one. My 228 is great, but the 229 with changeable barrel - sweet. Pep spray - you bet - then I'd beat them with the empty can.

In the top compartment I keep my EZpass box as I haven't got around to mounting the sucker yet. Nothing in the Bottom one. I took the stupid sunglass holder out the driver's door pocket because my caselogic CD case which is 2 CDs high fits perfectly in there and easy to access while driving. I keep my sunglasses their case in the deep armrest pocket.
What ever you do, don't put your contact lense holder there or it will get stuck. I had to use needle nose to get it out.
Question? Where do you keep the DVD-A disks? They are too big to fit properly under the arm rest and rattles in the door compartments. Do you just take them out and put them in regular CD jewl case? They should have thought about this.

Get caught where I live WITHOUT a handgun in your car, and the cops would be surprised. Florida law allows EVERYONE who is sane, sober, and not a felon to carry a concealed firearm as a matter of right (as the Constitution intends). Interestingly, Florida has much fewer murders by firearm than cities and states where guns are totally outlawed. We don't have many car jacks around here. Hee hee!
Off-topic: I believe Miami is one of the worst cities for violent crimes.
On-topic: Thanks to those who mentioned putting CDs in that upper compartment. From just looking at it, I didn't think a CD case would fit, and I might never have tried it if not for this forum. Thanks mucho!!!
