Commitment to the dealership?!?!?
Commitment to the dealership?!?!?
Hey, guys...
I was wondering... With all these "minor problems" (i.e. rattling noise, windshield wipers skipping, etc.)... Are we allowed to take our TLs to a different dealership for attention to these problems? Considering they would still fall under Manufacture warranty?? My dealership is so far and out of the way and there is one close to my house... Can I take my car there for these "minor problems"??

A lot of dealers LOVE trying to woo new customers away from other dealers. In fact, that's a big reason why a lot of dealers throw in some freebies if you get service done at the same place you bought your car.
I would hazard a guess that a lot of Honda dealers would have no problem working on your car as well. The local Nissan dealer is where my mom always took her Infiniti because her dealer really screwed her over on the deal (*cough* Bennett Infiniti in Allentown, PA *cough*).

I bought my car From Cush Acura in Escondido Ca. The sells people there are great but the service department is a joke. So I decided to take my car to Hoehn Acura in Carlsbad Ca and the service people there are the best I have ever seen. I go to them now for anything I need done to my car. They even did the tranny oil jet recall for me with out the recall letter and they knew everything about the recall. They have a great team over there.
So after all this babbling yes you can take your car to another Acura dealer ship for anything. Just find the one the treats you the best and stick to that one.

I bought my TL in Houston and live in Dallas. I get all my servicing done in Dallas of course. My Dallas service rep goes above and beyond anything I'd expect from a service person. She gave me a free visor to help combat the effects of the "dropped headliner" issue. She has offered to replace the piece on the drivers side window where I place my elbow when I drive because it's forming a dent now. I didn't care as my other cars have also had that problem. I was shocked when she offered it for free. This is at Goodson Acura in Irving, Tx. by the way.
I bought my TL at Hall Acura in Newport News.....had a great sales experience. However, Hall also has an Acura dealership here in Virginia Beach, so I'm going to try them first for service....hopefully the Hall 'rep' for good service will extend to this dealership. If not.....I may make the trip over the Bay to the newport news store. Since my first service appointment is on Monday...I'll let you know.
I own an Acura and Honda and take both cars to the Acura dealership for routine service. The Acura dealer in my area goes out of their way to make me happy and I'd give them a B+++ rating. The only reason they don't get the coveted A rating is not due to service but their not giving me an Acura loner when my car is in for service. I get a rental since they don't have an Acura available as a loner. Otherwise their service is A+.
