Cool Colors

Is it possible, from a dealers web-site, via VIN, to tell what color the car is. I don't know the color codes and don't know if they are part of the VIN. My area dealers sometimes list color on their web-site, sometimes don't. Also, possible to tell interior color from VIN?

Yes, if you have access to the Acura database, you can tell the colors from the VIN. In other words, that information is not encoded in the VIN itself, but Acura keeps a database of each car.

Go to acura.com, then to the owner's link, and register. Put in the VIN in question and it should tell you that stuff about the car.

If you can't access the owner's link, I'll be happy to retrieve the info for you if you PM me the VIN.

Gator should we sign up for owners link as TL owners. What is it and are there any benefits to being a member?

moreace - I signed up. Not sure I'll ever use it, though. I don't really see any benefits, except that they claim they will email you if there are any recalls on your registered VIN(s).

Mostly useless, I think. Anyone disagree?

I registered my 00 RL over two years ago and only received an email on my birthday. This very informative email told me the following:

1. It was my birthday.

2. I should be happy.

Unless you need to know this crucial information, I'd skip the owners registration stuff like a non-navi dash.

When I had my Civics and Accords I was registered at the Honda site, and periodically received service discount coupons from Honda. Hopefully they'll do something like that at the Acura site.
