Cold Air Intake

I know this is a repost, but I wanted a concise set of opinions, please!

A) How far down, exactly, does either the AEM or Injen intake hang down? As I live in FLorida, if I take it easy in the rain, is it feesable to safley run this? Does anyone have pictures of their install?

B) Can you feel the extra 15 or so HP? Manual vs. AT? Any before and after opinions?

That's pretty much it....I would appreciate any constructive additional thoughts...

The Injen filter is about the level of the air inlet in the bumper opening. I grew up in Florida and would not keep the Injen if I went back. I remember standing water and very heavy storms being commonplace.

It's not enough to feel, but the sound difference will trick you into feeling something.

you can always try aem's air bypass valve if you are really woried about rain and water being sucked up into the engine.

I dont know how deep the water gets where you live but i have owned a CAI on every car i have owned and it was never a problem. The filter must be completely submerged in order to hydrolock. I wouldnt put a huge worry on it, just dont hit any big puddles

Just like Blktl1 said the entire filter has to be submerged in water for your engine to hydrolock. I've never lived in Florida so I dont know how deep it gets. Dont think the aem bypass will work on the Injen because the Injen intake tube is larger than 3 inches, not sure if they have one that will fit it. I have the Injen, dont know about the aem, you may be able to tell there is a little difference around the 5k to 6k rpm range, and it soulds a hell of a lot better. The best "side effect" of the intake I've noticed is your fuel economy increases... After the initial shock of the new toy goes away when u start to drive like u did before u had this thing added to your car. Hope that helps.
