that's because that isn't an 08 headlight..it's an 04-06. I had the same problem. When I bought my 07-08 TL-s Headlights I had to buy the bulb holders for the 07-08 because they are different than my 06 was. If you got those headlights in the group buy then you got the wrong year.

 

They can't be 06 headlights. The design was changed after 07, the fogs where moved off the lights and the DRL have a circular enclosure, reflector. So two circles, vs 1 circle and 1 square for the 06 lights. So it's pretty easy to tell the difference.

 

from what it looks like....

the type s headlights have cleared diffusers, that's why they switched out the 7443 bulbs since 7443 amber bulbs aren't common.

i was a group buy. There were so many headlights I bet they just used pieces from all of them to put them back together. The rear part of the headlights are the same except for the bulb holder configurations. Sounds like even if you get a 7443 bulb then your still going to need the 7443 bulb holder from Acura..and even then you're plug won't fit the bulb holder. you'd have to rig it up with wires and wire taps.

here is what the 1157 looks like

I think the base model uses 7443 since the bulb doesnt need to be amber (cause of the amber defuser) and in case of the type S they are using 1157 bulb since 1157s have amber colored glass rather than clear glass, this because of the clear defuser as "lights" stated.

So if thats the case then the 1157 wont fit the base model 07-08 headlights since its bigger in size than the 7443 bulb.

The lights that I sent to kimbo were indeed base model ones thats why the 1157 didnt fit the housing that he had with him and that indeed is the reason why its not fitting the headlights I sent you jokerunm since you have a type S.

 

BTW slimboogie your headlights went out yesterday and should be with you before the end of the week.

 

What you are saying is that I use backs and lenses from different headlights? In that case no, that doesnt happen. I open a set and work on it and reseal it using all the same components.

Here is a break down for every one,

04 headlights are the same as 05 headlights, they both use same sized ballast and most of them have DOT step style projectors.

06 headlights are same as the 04-05 but the only difference is that they ballast used is smaller, so 06 headlights wont fit an 04-05 model. All 06 have DOT slope style cut off.

07-08 base model headlights have the DRLs as you know, plus chrome inner insert, amber defuser and the same ballast as the 06 model.

07-08 Type S, same ballast as 06 and 07-08 base model, clear defuser and most of the insert is painted glossy black. Both base and type S model headlights use DOT slope style cut off.

Slim the headlights look great, I wasnt digging the bright SSM on the headlights but I stand corrected after looking at the headlights installed on the car

Jingy, as for now this GB is closed for any further entries once its completed I'll decide if I want to become an official vendor or not.

 

Wow slim those look great! If I haden't done my hood I would have had done the SSM match. I look at the metal flake in my lights and say wow everytime I walk by!

If any of you guys are out there debating between the stock blacking out or a color match definately do the color match. From the pictures it definately looks like the aerosol match colors lay down smoother and have a nicer texture. And if you don't want to match and have that black color order the NBP and have that metallic color flow on the car! Its definately a good $30 extra investment in your lights!
