Clear bra for front windshied

Is there such a thing available? Something similiar to the clear bras used for the front bumpers except one thats made for the front windshield? I do alot of highway driving and the highway I use has alot of 18 wheelers, and its only a 2 lane highway. I washed my car last week and noticed tons of tiny scratches, indentations and nicks on the windshield. They were never their before I started using this highway. Was wondering if their was any way to protect it from further damage from rocks and pebbles and even prevent a large crack.

I guess keep your distance away from the trucks is key, they kick up rocks and stuff and thats the best avoidance strategy.

Never happen. The wipers would destroy the plastic 3M material and cloud the windshield. In todays litigious society, if you had an accident and there was any question regarding visibility, the guy that put the clear bra on the windshield would get his ass sued. Best bet is to check with your insurance agent. My State Farm policy has glass covered with no deductible, even though my comprehensive deductible is $500. Cost is about $5 per year and in Colorado, we need a new windshield about every 3 to 4 years. The math on this one makes it a simple decision.

I keep my distance all the time but somehow those rocks seem to make their way towards me. The paint chips arent that bad but the window is beginning to take a hit. I just realized that a clear bra probably wouldn't be available for the window realizing that if their were ice on the window and you had to scrape it off you'd probably end up tearing up the film. Guess their really isn't anything to protect it other than keeping distance.

There is a product I believe that is used like a clear coat on the windshield that makes the rain fall off like your have rain-x on and protects from chips. I think you have to get it redone every couple of years but not sure on that. Its not film its something they spray on. Sorry I dont know the name of it but I do remember reading about it.

I wouldnt trust a film on the outside of the windshield. Yes it will protect it but I dont believe them when they say it wont get scratched or peel , ext, ext. The warranty is only 12,000 miles !!!! just saw that wtf

This was the treatment that I read about

The films claim to be scratch resistant to wipers, but with the winter approaching scraping ice off the window is a different story. Im sure it wont be resistant to that. That was one of my main concerns with the film. It wouldn't hold up that well. The Diamond Fusion doesn't look bad but how much protection can a thin film of liquid give you against rocks unless it hardens into a shell of some sort. Ah well, it was worth looking into...thanks for the help and info...back to dodging rocks!

Ask your Acura Dealer or a high-end tint shop about Diamond Fusion http://www.diamonfusion.com/en/products/improves.html

You can get it with the warranty which includes glass repair and/or glass replacement. Also they offer OEM Glass Replacement which is a little more but very much worth it in the end. It's been considered by many in the Auto Industry as Rain-X on Steroids. I've seen this in person and words can't describe how amazing this is in the rain. Not to mention ZERO rockchips... rocks just deflect off your winshield like nothing . One of my regrets when purchasing my car was not having this applied. I have a very minor chip in my winshield, as soon as I have it repaired I will have this applied ASAP.
