Cleaning my CAI Filter

Does anyone have any suggestions on the easiest way to take the filter out of the CAI to clean it?

When I clean my CAI, my "easy" way of doing it is removing the front driver wheel, undoing half of the fender liner, and removing the filter from there.

After that, I clean it and put it back.

Damn, I just turned my wheels to the right, and went through the fender liner and ripped that sucker out! Maybe i'll try removing the wheel next time haha

Turn your wheel to the right, peel back the fender liner and undo the filter clamp. If your car is not lowered, you can drop the filter out from underneath the front bumper after pulling back the plastic liner underneath.

My car is lowered, so I have to jack the front end up for clearance to pull the filter out.

I clean my CAI filter yearly. Usually, I jack my car up and take the wheel off. That way I have room to move around and can get the filter out and place it back in without a hitch. I have the full A-spec package, so my car is lower by an inch from stock just turning the wheel might not be the easiest option.

Is cleaning the CAI filter what people usually do? or do people usually just replace it? Never cleaned my filter out...I think that's why I'm getting such low mileage.......

What kind of mileage are you getting? My filter is 27 months old , and my mileage is still the same.

Performance, on the other hand, has definitely dropped. I need to get mine cleaned, too!

It's a good idea to clean it twice a year. It's a waste of money to buy a new filter, IMO.
