Chromium vs Satin.

So. I was reading up on an old post from Honda news and I saw the term "black chrome" mentioned several times when referring to the Type-S front grille badging and accents... They also referred to the black chrome on the rear tail lights. Now on my car I can def see "black chrome" in the tail light assembly, but as far as the front end is concerned, it is straight "chrome", shiny, silvery, mirrored looking chrome. I have a suspicion that the front end of my car was wrecked... Is it possible that if it was that they installed the base TL grill and inserts? From what I can see, they are almost identical. I've looked at some pics online of the Type-S and Base model, and they all seem to have a highly polished look as far as the front trim goes, but when looking at parts online, there is a def difference between the two.

the only way to tell is to park your car next to a base TL and compare. I suspect your hood trim will be a little tiny bit darker

big difference between the base TL and Type S trim, the Type S is polished with darker shade chrome to it where the base TL is straight brush aluminum silver.
