Hey,

I know that some of you might be against this but I am just wondering if anyone has tried to put the chrome trim around the windows. The TSX and RL have it (competitor also G35, A4, etc) I want to see how it looks. I think it would add more class to the car specially when compared with the competition.

Unless you have a classic car, chrome should be kept to a minimum - wheels and maybe exhaust tips, if at all. Window trim, side and rear accents, grills, etc. should never be chrome...it breaks up the look of the car.

 

Maybe someone can do a photochop of one to see the difference!!

Just look at the TSX it would probably be better than any photoshop.

 

Did you know that on the TL, all the black areas are actually black plastic tape that cover the aluminum/chrome looking coverings? How did I find out? I put some whetherflectors on last night and in the corner horizontal piece near the mirror got "cut" by the plastic flector and low and behold it was bright silver/chrome underneith the tape. I'm sure someone can pull it right off with some patience and a blow dryer/heat gun. My last car, a 2003.5 Mazdaspeed was the same way, but the color underneith was the color of the car.

the shiny black moldings around the window... they're merely a layer of tape/film on silver/chrome trim. 2G TL and TSX have the silver/chrome trims.

won't look so great on the 3G, as there are no other chrome trims besides the emblems... brushed aluminum, maybe. still not worth the time/effort.

 

I still would like to see someone pull it off.

 

Too bad they weren't the color of the car - does wonders. But since I found it out last night, I'm not planning on doing it, darker colors=good on Anthracite.

 

Dam does anyone have any pics. I think it would look pretty nice with some chrome in it. BMW only comes with it if you buy the 330i. The lower models don't come with chrome window sills.
