CHMSL modification??

I was behind a '07 or '08 TL the other day. I noticed that when he hit his brakes, the CHMSL (middle brake light) would flash 4 times, then go to steady like the other ones. Is this modification anywhere on this sight? I have looked everywhere on this sight....Thanks in advance if anyone can help out.

That would be pretty cool and an extra safety measure.

Sounds like someone's twitchy on the brakes.

We have this on our firetrucks, but it doesn't as much blink as it does flicker a few times, then stay on steady. When we first got the truck, we thought that the manufacturer fucked up, but it turns out it's a safety feature to get the motorists attention in case they ignore the sign that politely asks them to KEEP BACK 200 FEET

Some cars do it, and some dont. It's supposed to be a safety feature

I dont think thats a safe safety feature, imagine the person behind you catches a seizure.

I noticed some American cars did this a few years ago. They stopped after a year or two...I can only imagine because it was lame and more troublesome than helpful (ie. you didn't think they were hard stopping, just pulse stopping).

Mercedes has done this. You might think it is annoying but it did get your attention right? That means it is working.
