Cheap Mod? Dual Exhaust

Could I get the stock exaust tips of my 05 TL cut off and have some chrome dual exhaust tips (like the 07 TL-S)welded on or something? Is that possible? Would it be a low cost mod?

For the trouble of cutting off the tips just to put a different tip on I would just buy two universal mufflers and get those welded on. They have a couple DTM style exhaust thats looks pretty nice.

correct me if i'm wrong, but you would also need to buy the type-s rear bumper because the dual tips wouldn't fit the non-s bumper

ya but if he were to get doule dual tips they would be so small on his 05 TL bumper that It wouldnt look nice. Face it OP your gonna have to spend a lil bit of $ if you want your ride to look nice.

It's going to be hard to make them look right.

The factory tips come out from the bottom of the bumper, and scoop up. So if you get aftermarket tips, you want them to be as short as possible or else you will be working with a very steep angle from the canister to the tip.

Not worth it IMO..
I think it would look bad coming out of the stock bumper... I was actually thinking about doing the opposite - getting aftermarket mufflers and welding the stock tips on so it looked good still and sounded better.

It is going to look tacky. Get the ATLP from Anzbo..

or look into the type-S Exhaust.
