Changing DRLs to Nokyas-HELP
Changing DRLs to Nokyas-HELP
On my TL a few years back, I remember trying to change my DRLs to white Nokyas and they wouldn't work right. When I installed one bulb, it would work but when I installed both, they would not. I tried both sides individually and they would work but not both at once...
I think it had something to do with the wattage they ran at...
EDIT: looked up some info, white ones were 100W while yellow ones are 65W.
So my question is:
Does anyone have any first hand experience with changing DRLs to either a white or even yellow bulb (Nokyas)? I don't like the stock faded yellow bulbs.
...Size I believe is 9005, I don't want to order another set of bulbs for it to not work...
Thanks!

i just changed my DRLs to LEDs and they look much better than the stock faded yellow. i got a DRL kit from jlc lightings and it works with full power to the LEDs and no DRL warning light
The stock DRL's look the way they do because they only get partial power; any white replacement bulb will look the same. Don't know how yellow will look on partial power.
Some have LED's, but that may require a harness/adapter of some kind because of the low draw.

Do you have a picture of how the LED DRL's look at night? I want to see how bright they look.
i have day photos in this thread from various distances https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...=821566&page=4
post #10 up above has the thread link where i put in 3 daytime pics from far distances. they are not blinding but are a good brightness. the night time pic really captures reflections and intensifies it
Update: I got the Nokya Hyper Yellow lights for my DRLs and installed them earlier tonight. (2500k 65W)
The passenger side was pretty easy, the driver side though is much harder since you need to remove a few things and then the frame of the car gets in the way. I would recommend remembering the position of bulbs as you take them out so you can reinsert the bulbs and not waste time feeling around blindly.
At first they didn't work, but then I realized I had a wire-harness still hooked from a prior install. Took the harness off and viola!
They are also BRIGHT despite being yellow and DRLs. At least from the pics I took at night.
Nightshots are below.

For the guys running the Nokya Hyper Yellow lights. These are plug and play and dont need a harness/resistors?
Also for the Nokya's which bulb did you guys get? Looks like theres a NOK7620 and NOK7611.

Yes these are plug and play, take out the old bulbs, and replace with these.. if you're putting them into the fog lights, then for 07-08 TL's are H8 size bulbs, for the DRL's they are 9005.. i am unsure of the 04-06 TL DRL bulb size.
