Changed my Interior lights to LED

Today I changed my interior dome lights to white LED's. They are not as bright as I though they would be. Is this normal or shoulf they be pretty bright? I got them from a local pepboys.

The brightness is based on the number of LEDs per bulb and their efficiency. I ordered lights from superbrightleds and love the slightly dimmer effect they give. They are bright enough to read a newspaper with them.

Here's what I used for the 4 dome lights:
Quantity: 4
Product: 921-x9 Wedge Base LED bulb $ 1.95 (each)
Options: White 1.75

The door courtesy lights use the same type of bulb. I bought these March 2007 so the prices are probably different now. Perhaps there is a 921-x12 bulb would have 3 more LEDs and would be even brighter.

I also changed to white using v-leds bulbs. Tehy are just as bright as the regular bulbs, but they are harsher on the eyes...but you may have gotten LED's with not enough light on them. I got the 6 LED SMTs from V-LEDs for the interior domes.

You ain't kidding. I installed the same ones in white and they look damn good and bright. I get a lot of compliments. They glow like a really bright blue, which is cool cause it matches with my interior lighting.

How much was it for the set? Which lights were included (i.e. doors and....?)I'm looking to upgrade mine. Bought some blue ones a few years ago and I like the color just really blue and can barely see anything..lol

Thanks

Rounder - on your blue lights posted above how many LEDS are in each light? They don't look that bright...

I have purple now and need to change mine out to blue because the puddle lights I just bought are blue and I would like them to match.

Wow that looks awesome. I want to do this to my car now. Where did you buy yor LEDs, is it easy to take the lights apart to install the bulb?

It's REAL easy to take the lights apart and intall the bulbs.
You will need a SMALL flathead screwdriver to pry the cover off with. Make sure you put a piece of cloth or something over the end of the screwdriver before trying to pry it off so you do not damage the plastic in your car. Once you get it off just wrap a piece of scotch tape around the bulb and leave a tail hanging off the tape so you can pull the bulb out. EASY!!

for the lights try superbrightleds.com or e bay

pretty bright there sixsix. I also have the 12led bulbs in the interior. I like the bluish hue. The newer LEDs are brighter, but they are pure white.

I get nothing but compliments my 6 LEDs Blues(I think) on my lower door lights.(puddle lights) the blue really goes with the interior, and i've seen red in a TL-S also looks very good. I need brighter all around white interior LEDS..

Mines were given to me by a buddy after I helped him clear his headlights. He bought them in red and white and he kept the red. I know he got them from superbrightleds.com and they are white, but so bright that they shine blue-ish. They're part number 921-W12 meaning they do have 12 leds.

Carrie, I believe there are 12 in the door ones and 6 in each socket in the domes.

I stink at taking pictures, but they are bright enough...

This is what I ordered, suggested from the main LED thread.

PRODUCT INFORMATION--

Quantity: 4
Product: WLED-xHP6 Wedge Base Bulb $ 4.95 (each)
Options: Blue WLED-BHP6

Quantity: 2
Product: 921-x12 Wedge Base LED bulb $ 3.95 (each)
Options: Blue 921-B12 1.00

Ok I am sold. I am on the website right now (http://www.superbrightleds.com) and I am trying to figure out how to get to the bulbs I need. I am not usually slow at this kind of stuff I swear! But there are thousands of bulbs to choose from, how do I know which ones I need. I want to replace my trunk bulb, and interior lights as well as license plate light.. Thanks
