CF Grille Wrap??

Anyone done this before? Debating if I should wrap my front grille in CF.. I am not sure how it would look though, and I live in Minnesota, so I'm not sure if the harsh winters would be too hard on it.

If anyone has insight on it, please let me know.

Also, if you have done it, pics would be great!

plenty of people have done it. the CF vinyl doesn't last too long outdoors. it tends to fade overtime. you can spruce it back up by adding some aerospace303 spray every once in a while.

Yeah, that's what I was worried about. It's my daily driver, but the silver grille just has to go... Debating between doing a CF wrap or getting it painted, but I've heard paint chips after a while.

Any suggestions on which route to go?

you can use CF vinyl, no problem. just maintain it with the 303.

OR, since you have a NBP, just use glossy black vinyl. that stuff won't show it's age as fast as the CF will and it'll color match your car. the glossy black is a really close match to your paint.

Looks good. I like it matching, wasn't sure if I should have it match, or go with a CF wrap. But I def like how it flows with the front end when it's done in gloss black

Just not sure how it would turn out given the size of the grill. all of my applications, past and present, have been an inch-inch and a half thick whereas the grill is several inches thick along the center bar.

Check out my progress thread in the photo section for more pics. I've only had it for about 6 months so I can't comment on the durability really.

Get the 3M 1080 CF vinyl. That stuff is mistaken a lot for Di-Noc, and they are different vinyls, both by 3M.

1080 is meant for automotive purposes, whereas Di-Noc was made for household and architectural purposes.

I'm diggin them. I think I'd do the whole grill as I have blacked out majority of the parts on my car. Just on the fence about durability.. What can I expect out of it as a DD? A year? Two? I know it'll be tedious, and I hate to keep doing this year after year.

Here's mine right after wrapping:

It's been on for a few months now. Got one rock chip on it but otherwise has held up fine.
