CAUTION: Land of No Return

The other day I was leaning over the passenger seat, while opening the door, and I dropped my house keys under the seat.

I tried to stick my hands under the seat to get it but I couldn't get to it. I moved the seat up and back but I still couldn't get to it. I got my flashlight and looked under there and I couldn't find it!! I knew I dropped it down there but it disappeared. I was getting desperate and frustrated that i was about to remove the entire passenger seat. But I kept trying....

Finally, I found two holes in the carpet (I guess air vents) and I found my keys lodged in there.....under the carpet!! How in the hell did it fall in there.

Word of advice.....don't drop anything under the passenger seat. There's a chance you'll never get it back.

I dropped a dime underneath the driver's seat once and could not find it for 20 minutes even though I usually keep my car pretty clean. It turned out it was stuck between the seat belt holster and the center column...

I hope you spent that long looking for that dime because you were afraid it would cause a rattle, and not because you didn't want to lose the dime.

I put a smilie in, but if it's not working, lol

Speaking of change, be carefull on what you put on the floor of the backseat area:

So, I had a bag of change on the floor in the back seat behind the driver, say $100 bucks worth. The bag broke open and change was sliding around the floormats for about a day. Well guess what, the backseat foor air vent doesn't have a cover and about $8 bucks worth slid into the vent. Every time I turned a corner, change would slide back and forth under the the driver's seat/center console. Nightmare!!! Had to have the dealer remove the change . . .

Knowing Bay Area dealers, did they charge you for this service?

Well, Accura of Serramonte DIDN'T charge me for the change removal - I was ready to shell out $$$ to remove the change but they gave me a nice surprise. Unfortunately, they didn't fix my vibrations and engine whine . . . .

I've lost things there before, I know how difficult it is to get it out. Almost impossible unless you spend some time on it.

Its pretty easy to take the front seat out. 4 bolts and about 5 mintues. I had to do this when my wife dropped something under the seat, don't remember what it was.
