Catalytic converter
If it's the 3rd cat, just straight pipe it or purchase a long J-pipe, as long as you're not in a state that does a visual inspection of the car. From what I understand, that simply drops the car to a "LEV" instead of "ULEV" (low emission vehicle vs. ultra low emission vehicle). No check engine light and no funny smell either. I wouldn't ever spend the money on a high flow 3rd cat. The stock one flows just fine already. You won't see any power increase with a high flow. The only power increase you'll see from higher flow cats are the HFPC's (high flow pre-cats) from RV6 which are the catalytic converters that connect directly to the engine and do probably 90% of the work. RV6 was on backorder (still is I believe) on their HFPC's and I was impatient so I looked high and low for high flow cats for the J-series V6 from other manufacturers and was never able to find any. If you go with magnaflow for the pre-cats, you'll have to do some sort of custom fittings which will be muy-expensive. More than just purchasing the HFPC's from RV6, which are going to be better quality (stainless steel) and flow better anyways.
