carbon fiber interior trim install

so i have done a few searches, as well as checking the "install" section of this site, and i have found no instructions on how to install these optional pieces.

i assume you need to clean the surfaces first and maybe install on a warm day or at least use a hair dryer or something to be sure the tape is warm and sticky, but is there anything else?

is there a specific order that these pieces need to be installed?

just clean well to remove any surface resedue and hold down on them firmly for a minute. I wouldn't think you would need a hair dryer unless it is really cold, the surface would need to be "room temperature"

i apologize, i thought thats where it was. i went to that section and clicked the "new thread" button, and i thought the only place i could see this thread was in the "Performance Parts & Modifications" section, so i dont know what happened. dont worry, i have read the rules but for some reason i dont think this was my fault, but if it was then i apologize again.

what you describe sounds like what everyone has. the optional CF covers the plastic around the seat-heater switches, the area around the front cup holders, and the area on the center console that reaches in to the back seat that has the air vents and the storage area that opens up. those all get covered with the fake carbon fiber and are just stick-ons. the other cf pieces are not stick-on.

Wipe off the area with rubbing alcohol to clean the surface. Then put the pieces near the top vents on the dash and turn the heat on. Leave them there for a few minutes and your ready to go.

We have climate control. You can make it whatever temp you need inside the car to do the job, just let the heater run for a while.
And I agree about cleaning the area with rubbing alcohol first.
