Yeah, I love the leather one that comes with the car, but those MOMO and other brand shift knobs on that site are hot.

This would would look awesome with the ebony interior, IMO. They had a gunmetal one too, like mesh instead of straight silver sheet, and it looks cooler, but it wouldn't match.

Looks nice

Did you need any attachments or does it screw right in?

Most screw right on but the stock one is very difficult to get off. One have to make a real effort to screw it off.

The old one screws off (very tight). The new one uses a rubber cap to cover the treads and then the shifter fits over the cap. Three set screws hold it in place and the bottem piece screws in to cover the set screws.

The hardest part is the boot. The original shifter comes with a plastic piece that the leather is held to with a cable tie. That piece has to be removed for the new shifter to fit. I used a cable tie but you have to fold the leather inside of a loop and slowly tighten to keep it even. Its a battle, but with alot of paintience it can be done.

I have an automatic so I don't have to worry about a shift boot

Thanks for the info though.

So basically I just turn the stock one as hard as I can if I ever wanted to change it?

i got a momo "cobra" shifter, polished aluminum with black leather. i must say it looks GREAT with my ebony interior. the installation took 10 minutes, and about another 10 to adjust. the stock shifter (at least for 5AT, i duno about manual) just screws right off. lefty loosey, righty tighty :captobvious: i store mine in the glove compartment. then to install the momo ones, they come with these little rubber caps. you put the rubber cap that corresponds to the size of the metal SHAFT . then you put the knob on top and press it down, and it comes with little screws that you screw in at the botom of the knob to keep it in place, sort of like the base of a christmas tree how you screw them in to tighten and keep the tree straight, same concept. it looks great and gets lots of compliments, and is a good topic of discussion, preferably using sexual innuendo. and also as a good general tip, whenever a chicks (hot of course) sitting in shotgun, always ask them if they want to slob on your knob. if they say no or give you a wierd look, just say you were talking about your new shift knob (also point out the shinyness). if they say yes, well then you hit the jackpot (i havent had any of those yet...)

oh and as for where to buy them, they have a great selection of momo and other brands at sounddomain.com, theyre like a branch of cardomain.com

I'm jewish. Guess I can't do it

Anyway, are the manual shifter knobs really for manual only or will they work on the AT shifter?

Those manual MOMO shifters will work on AT models since the TL Auto doesn't have a gear selector button.

I want to do that too. Both the brake and the shifter would really contribute as nice "centerpieces" in the car. I'll probably do more performance mods first though, such as CAI, Body Kit, Rims, etc.

Damn shifters aren't cheap.

That would be great with blue stitching to match the Aspec steering wheel. They do make a blue model, but the metal is blue also, too cheap looking for me.

I really like this one, the Tomahawk:
