I'm not an English major, but isn't there something wrong gramatically with that sentence?

Too much grammar usage. Try this.

"i no been never race done yet"

Damnit. It was actually a chore to write that. Whereas I am sure it is easy for him. What a talent.

I had my a$$ handed to me by a E55 AMG a few weeks ago. He!!, I knew I would not win, but it was fun to piss off the guy by trying to pass him, and then seeing what his car would do.

What a great ride the E55 is.

You forgot to include the most formidable of opponents...

...a 1972 Ford Maverick.

Sure, he took me off the line, but I won after we got over 120MPH...

I prefer to do my racing at the dragstrip...

I have a serious question here...

Are there *really* so many dumbasses on this forum who actually street race, or do you guys just make it up? I can't imagine that so many people would put lives and property at risk by street racing.

:flamer:

I doubt my TL will ever see the dragstrip, though I did once race my 1993 Toyota Camry V6 there...it was entertaining.

Yep, they are here. They look for races. As for me, I don't street race but I do drive very fast. I avoid strangers on the road but I occasionally have a short race with a friend in the other lane. Nothing major. We don't get up to any dangerous speeds. Just a quick 0-60 race. Anymore is asking for trouble.

I used to be the same way, except that I'd back off AT the limit. It's still not worth it given the health and legal risks.

You don't have to be driving fast to get a ticket for "speed contest" or whatever they call it in your locale. Hard launches and tire smoke can get you in trouble with the law.

I've always wondered why street racers don't just head to the nearest strip. It's a reasonably safe and controlled environment where you can race and get actual time-slips to prove yourself when you're "bench racing" with your buddies. I'm overdue to take my '69 Dart to the track, and it's a LOT of fun.

I couldn't imagine taking a new TL to the track...the idea of no insurance coverage on a $35k car. No way in hell. I'd rather have a little fun on the street and maybe risk a ticket.

What track? There is none on Long Island. Besides, most racing is kind of a spur of the moment, rev at the light, kinda thing.

Long Island Dragway in Westhampton is still open for business. Englishtown, NJ isn't too far away either.

40th Aniversary Mustang GT Convert. He kept tailgating me so I decided to drop the hammer. Hung with me until the 120 MPH mark then lost him in the mirror at 140! I know, Iknow. Don't preach, I just had to do it once. DGP/Parchment ,Auto, K&N replacement filter.
