Just remember that you had a used engine in your TL already. I used to be an insurance adjuster and I feel that they were quite generous to you. Your adjuster looked for a "reason to cover the claim" not for a reason to deny coverage. For your own comfort, see if you can find a carfax report on the vehicle with the donor engine; might tell you something about it instead of always wondering.
