Car purchase opinion: '05 TL 83K mi for $15.9k
Hey guys,
As you can see I am new here, looking to buy a TL from a private seller completely stock except tint.
I do not know much about TL's and wanted your guys opinions on possibly my future purchase.
Here are the specs:
Anyways here is more info on the car from what I seen when I went to look at it & test drive today.
I drove the car & it is smooth, everything works from lights, signals, trunk, key fob, alarm, no squeaking on doors, seats work, radio works, A/C is COLD, Heater is HOT, Engine sounds nice, suspension feels great, etc.
Now, is this a good deal? 83,000k miles for $15k, car looks almost NEW and has all records and maintained.
Thanks!

Sorry I didn't say but I have not bought it yet, just checked it out today.
Wow, that's a good deal you got. I found some that are a bit better deals but I'm picky with my cars, black interior is a MUST & all the other ones have tan or have the ugly wood like trimming.

Prices are very dependent on your location, market saturation and what people are willing to pay. The bottom line is if you feel comfortable paying X amount, then you should feel good about it. I would probably pay less than 15,900 given it doesn't have navi. I would def. work on the price a bit (there is always room to negotiate, even if it's $500).

Janel, having Navigation is a good thing, especially down the road when you go to sell it again.
You might want to look for a TL with Nav.

Yea, it's a little on the high side, got my TL with nav for around 13k, private party, an 05 also, it had 72,00 miles. Should keep looking or lower the price.

I wish I could of found one less than $15k. I ended up buying an 06 w/ Navi, 6MT, and 75k miles for $16,900. I was carless for a couple days and sick of driving a rental lol so I said screw it.

I'm in the same position Grey. I have a rental right now, actually I have to return it tomorrow :/
But wow, you got Navi & a 6MT, nice.
I found one online pre-owned dealer $16.9k w/ Navi & Auto. I'm gonna go there tomorrow & see what kind of deal I can make, I'm going to offer them 14k.

I'd pass on it bro. Navigation is something that I couldn't live without, but telling that to someone who never owned a vehicle equipped with it is kind of difficult.
It's nice that it is properly maintained, it definitely calms the mind, but I personally think the price is a bit high. 80k is pretty low for a TL (odd saying that but most TLs have 100k+) but at the price he is asking, he's really looking for top dollar. My best advice: Never settle, especially on a used car. If it's not everything you want, pass and keep searching. There are plenty of TLs in the sea.

Okay help me out, I found this '05 Acura RL & it looks great.
Now I'm debating between this RL or the TL I posted.
Help? I don't know much about the RL except that it's the flagship car and SH-AWD.

here is the RL: http://www.vadriven.com/forums/honda...ballin-447529/

06 Anthracite TL
Plus of the RL:
- looks great, well maintained, nice options, A-Spec kit
- Nav is there
- price is in your ballpark
- 94 k miles is nothing for the engine in these cars
Minus:
- first model year for the 2G RL, so there may be some issues with the SH-AWD, albeit uncommon, which could be expensive to fix if present
- mpg not as good as the TL
Good luck with your decision. To get either a TL with Nav or lower mileage, you may have to increase your budget just a bit.

You should get a TL, That RL looks like a very sooped up Accord, from 2007.
FYI< there is a women, Private seller, Selling a Black on Black 2006 TL,
She has about 83,000 miles on it, she is selling it, for asking price of $13,500-900 something around there,
Its a women owner, NAvigation YES, automatic, its Black EXterior, and YOU MUST GET BLACK INTERIOR IN THE TL,
only thing her car has a gold package, like front emblem is gold and rear badges gold,
I could take a pic for you if you like or a couple, and get her contact info,
I stopped to take a look at it, its pretty nice,.and the 2004-2005- 2006 solid spoke stock 5 spoke wheels are on it.

I sent you a PM mrsimeon
But, the thing I like about the RL, yes it looks a bit like an 07 Accord, but you can definitely tell the differences, the RL looks way more luxurious & the technology package with an RL is just ridiculous.
But I like the looks of the TL more imo, way more aggressive/sportier but the technology of the RL is out of this world, especially the SH-AWD.

I never quite understood why a female owner was so much better than a male owner. None of my female friends or their mothers take particular care of their car.
OP, I would keep looking. It's easy to understand the seller's high price if he seemingly loves the car so much, but there are much better deals out there.

All Around Klown
Just bought my WDP 2006 auto non navi, about a month ago with 96k, and a super clean carfax with almost all maintenance history from day 1 and the Timing belt service done about 1k ago for 13,300. I found quite a few cheaper ones, but they sold quicker than I could get them and I was being super picky on color. I wanted White with tan and was not going to accept anything else.

Females also have lower insurance rates than males, statistically speaking. I would think the same reasons apply.

I bought my 05 TL base , no nav. with 57,000 miles for $14k and that was at a dealer and not private party. So I would say thats a bit high. But cash talks , its getting harder and harder to find these cars with low mileage. I got lucky and was at the dealership at the right time.
