someoned keyed my 04 TL the other night right outside of my house.
the scratch goes across the hood and on top of both fenders.
there goes my IRS refund...

 

How deep is it? If it isn't deep then you may be able to buff out the scratch, otherwise you will have to get it repainted.

I feel your pain, happened to me a few months ago at the gym.

 

Sorry to hear about your loss. I feel for you man. Some punk tried to steal my decklid spoiler and scratched my trunk slightly in the process. Some people have no respect for themselves or other people's property. Take care of it and don't think about it too much.

for some reason, a long time ago, someone told me that car painting is better when it is 40 degrees or warmer...

by the way, no picture was provided since the scratch was too long and fine to be noticeable. it is however pretty deep.

I used Meguire's Scratch X when my car got keyed last week. Worked like a charm

 

Mine got keyed 2 weeks ago. Supposely someone lost their job in our building and keyed everyone's car as they left. They got mine on the drivers side rear quater panel. It hurt! There is someone else in this building that has a TL. I dont know if they keyed his car to, but he hasnt driven his car to work since. I plan on fixing mine next month with my next comission check.

 

yep, mine got keyed 2-3wk's after i got it. The strange thing is that i live in a apart. highrise, parked in the garage that i pay an extra $100 per month, one day i go to my car and all (i mean ALL) of the panels are keyed to the metal. brand new car less than a month old had to be totally repainted. Insurance covered it minus deductable. total of around $3500 w/ rental for one wk. The apart manager gave me the runaround. The car looks very good but u cant duplicate a factury finish when the car is less than a month old. I was ready to kill someone, all my buds think a chick did it

Don't feel bad man. Some ass-munch drove about a foot into my lane about a week ago and scratched the whole driver's side of my 3 month old baby. Apparantly he was in a rush to get to work and was speeding alittle. Luckily it was just a cracked side mirror and a scratched driver's side with no dents The funny thing is I feel uncomfortable driving around with the scratch. Anyways, hope to have it repair next week.
