Angry can't sell 2004 with 3k miles!

bought in sept 2004, anthra/ebony leather. no wrecks no problems..almost showroom condition. got company car (new, all paid!) so i need to sell.
car has been in garage, covered, etc.

had in papers etc 3 months now. couple deals that fell thru.

looking at going back to dealer and a $3800 hit. way below kelly blue book!

really stressed out now about it!!

advice?

You are going to take a hit. How big depends on how much you paid and how fast you want to sell. Dealer will want to make more money, that's what they do. It's a model year old and people will be cautious and looking for a deal, sorry, nothing personal, just business.

Look on the bright side, down the road, no car payments and insurance.

no doubt. still--it will take a buyer another 4000 or so to be in a new 2005. big question is whats the number? had it sold twice (1 with earnest money!) other only a "modest" real deal. overall great deal for me with company car truly offsetting the hit by a ton. still very real money though!

i've had about 30-40 calls, about 12 test drivers. everybody has positive sounding story but that means nothing.

have it at 28995 now going to 28500 tomorrow. splash guards , wheel locks are only options. dealer will go 27000. i had it sold 29500 about a month ago and the buyer (being questionably dishonest) got a deal on new one from dealer. had it sold for 28650 2 weeks ago. i think my number is about right but obvious it ain't gone yet!

Ditto that - I sold my '99 maxima there when I bought my TL. I got $1200 over blue book, no questions asked.

Exactly, took me about an hour. You can get an appraisal that is good for something like 5 days or 500 miles.

call, see, post results please. 90 miles is nothing, nearest to me is 170 miles. Take a bus or train home or have a friend-spouse play taxi.

So what city/state are you in?

Is the car and auto or stick?

Navi or no Navi?

You might find a potential buyer on here!

I would. He has the best tip other than selling outright and that's Carmax.

Can you tell me what you mean by "black market"? I guess I can't understand what might be wrong about him telling us about the car he is trying to sell. If someone wants to talk to him via e-mail about the car he wants to sell, isn't that okay?

Here is Blackmarket section of the forum. I think you can advertise here. Good Luck.
