Question Can U install a body kit by yourself ?

I just bought a body kit brand new from E-Bay. The dealer just quoted me $ 600 + to install it. Has anyone did it ? How hard is it and what do you need ? Thanks

Yes. Search. I've been here for 4 years less than you and I've seen at least 4 threads about DIY install.

If you can undo snaps, hold up a 5lb object and snap it back into place, you can instal this . Look at the 3G garage to see exactly how to do so. Front and back literally sit in place, snap in and tape up. Sides you have to slide a certain way. I did my kit in about an hour from start to finish, first time I ever done this too.

Yes. I installed an A-Spec kit on my '02 RSX a couple of years ago. It was relatively easy, even with a couple of hang ups. I would recommend installing it in a garage where you have access to a lot of weird tools. Sometimes you may need a strange tool you didn't think you would need, but comes in handy.

My '04 TL came with the A-Spec package installed, but after taking a closer look I would feel confident with installing it myself. Acura should have a PDF out there somewhere on how to install the kit. (If you got the A-Spec kit)

As mentioned, the 3G Garage has DIYs and also the official Acura installation instructions in PDF. C'mon, guys. Do a search of the Garage before posting shit questions like this. Almost anything you want to do to your car has already been done and posted! SEARCH!!
Ok, here's a little help:

Just take ur time, follow the directions, you'll be fine! I'm not good with tools at all, and panicked about the fact that i had to put holes on the actual piece(s), but managed to grow some cajones to do it.

Extra 3m double sided tape, music, and a day off from work/school...you'll be alright! Save ur money from install charges...you'll look back at ur work and feel a sense of accomplishment!!!

yea no kidding. If it has bad fitment then that might be why the dealer is charging so much.

As long as you have the right tools, time and instructions, you are good to go. As suggested, there are several DIYs for aspec lip kit install.
