I think it's a typo. It says it fits years 2001-04. The 2004 is different.

First off, I wouldn't trust some generic brand for a CAI (I would fear noise problems as well as performance issues). Also, the one pictured does not look like the Injen one I installed (shape/size wise). Finally, there is no way that there is a CAI that would fit 2001-2004 becuase they have a completely different air box configuration so that space that the CAI would go into is very different.

Forgot to mention that the dyno is from a Hyundai...that is frightening...if this fits a 2004 TL so well, why not show a TL dyno??

good point....this is the kind of answer that i was looking for...i guess i will have to shell out another 150 bucks to get the INJEN...

Not really. The 04TL has a vent that cools off the hot air in the engine compartment with the outside air rushing in. A CAI takes the air from outside the engine compartment before it gets to the hot air inside.

Anyway, I would rather spend the money and get the real deal that even think about that $79 dollar job.

how much "colder" is an aftermarket intake compared to the stock cold air intake. i know the stock one doesn't draw air directly from the front bumper but i think its cold enough. is the 1-2 peak horsepower at 5K rpm worth it? what about water ingestion? that would really "suck".

I'm not an expert on this, but I think the HP gains are significantly higher than 1-2. The dynos show more like 11-15. There is also a release valve (seperate purchase) for the intakes that will remove the water properly. I've also know people with similar intakes and I've never seen or heard of a water ingestion problem. I think you'd have to drive through a large puddle to actually take on enough water to damage the engine.
