bye bye to my baby...here come's my new love

Well guys i either had my midlife crisis come early or the inner youngin came out of me but the TL is now gone. I got an EVO MR to replace her and she's never gonna come back. But throughout the years this forum and the people who subscribe to it has inspired and helped me so much through the mods and little fixer'uppers that did to my TL. Now i have a new toy and a whole new journey ahead of me. I would like to take this time to thank each and everyone of you for the help and inputs. so here are some pics of her and my new toy. oh yea and by the way i still have the rims so if any of you are interested shoot me an email

Those rims would look GREAT on my Blue TS-s. How much are you asking for them and is the rubber still mounted??

Wow... that is a sexy ass MR. Not quite sure if it's worth trading your TL in for but your TL will undoubtedly give great pleasure to its next owner. I hope the MR brings you plenty of thrills.

Nice Toy, but in a TOTALLY different class of car. Its like comparing Fine Cognac to Malt Liquor.

The Mitsu is the Malt liquor.

I am sure you will get BIG thrills out of it, but be careful and don't go too crazy.

From what I have heard, an MR isnt so much better than the basic one. 6th gear is just stuffed into essentially the same tranny, since it is exactly the same size.

But hey, i think it looks slightly better than the base one. Enjoy your new ride.

The funny thing for me was i to got a evo 9 se and still kept my 07 TL-s. I love both cars but can't see myself only driving one. So I have both.

Never really cared for Mitsubishi styling, but I guess some people take fast regardless of how it looks.

I'm a honda head but the evo is the only car mitsu makes that i would own. Not to piss on honda but the evo is worldwide with its performance and looks. I had a 4door gsr with every jdm part you can imagine and i did not get the amount of stares and compliments I do with the evo and I have'nt relly done anything with it yet. In all I still love honda, just got sick of everybody and their grandmother trying to steal my car.

something about that rear bothers me. The front is quite nice, but its like they mated an awesome front with a tiny ricer rear. the trunk looks kinda small, I cant even see the tailpipe, you better stick a decent exhaust on that asap. Too bad it doesnt have duel exhausts. I've always hated those kite wings as well..

I think the only reason it gets so many stares is that people just can't comprehend how a car so unordinary can smoke a vette

You nailed it! The perfect analogy. What a nice car to get rid of, to each his own.

I would have kept the TL and bought a fast bike if I needed the adrenalin rush.

Good luck with the new car!

Congrat on your new car! I love to go out and buy an EVO but I def. don't want to spend extra 500 a year for insurance! how are you doing with insurance? did it jump any?

+1

I actually like the Evo front end better than the TL (Blaspheme!), but the rear looks like something straight off an 80's Japanese sedan with a lower skirt and fugly wing thing.

You might be able to improve it with a new skirt with dual exhaust openings, nice tips, and LOSE THE WING. But the TL will always be nicer all around, and ESPECIALLY from behind. And isn't that the view you want to give everyone, anyway?

Enjoy your new car, BTW - I bet it's a blast to drive!

But don't be surprised if you miss your TL when you're driving at anything less than 9/10ths (if you ever do)

The EVO does (correctly) look more aggressive than TL and they are very quick and inexpensive so they are a lot of fun but (for your sake) I hope they are better insulated/built than the STi's are. Every WRX STi I've ever ridding in rattles and bangs like your driving a 1970 Vega (noisy and not in the good way). They also ride VERY rough but as you said, totally different cars with totally different objectives. I'm looking at a "corvette killer" myself but it's going the other direction (as far as cost goes...big $$$'s).

actually the insurance dropped 20 bucks a month. i usually pay 280 a month for two cars now i pay 260 so insurance isn't so bad. it is an awd sedan so that helps. I do miss the luxury's of the TL but i felt like an old man in that car and yea i know and please dont flame me because i did fix it up to look like a a badass ride...i always did want an awd turbo'd car. if i could have kept both i would have but thats way out of my budget. So to the guys with the positive responses i appreciate it and the guys with the negative responses i also appreciate those as well but farewell to all...and the rims are sold by the way.

Hell don't listen to anyone telling you it was a dumb move. if you like the move you made on the car for the evo, Thats good enough. I was lucky to have the best of both worlds. I have a 07 type s and an 06 evo 9 se. never liked mitsu at all but I must say the evo is leaps and bounds from regular mitsu's
